| Yeah looks good. Only interesting thing would be to make certain things make "potence" interactable. Items to push, crack open, etc. That could add more to Potence than pure combat stats. | |

I REALLLLLLY like this idea. In fact, making any/all the disciplines good for more than just combat, I'm all for. I know in Santa Monica if you go in the parking garage, you can break the railing next to the side door of the gallery to sneak past Chunk and get in. You have to have a certain strength to do it. So, we could try to add more instances of similar situations. Another option would be somehow creating the ability to break locks on doors and chests. I have no idea how we'd do that but that would be sweet if it were possible.

Yeah, I think it's a mechanic that we won't be able to implement in a fun, lore-friendly way though because we don't have access to the actual engine to do it.

| Why not? Is it not possible to have a skill requirement?`A door to bash open maybe. Maybe making the glass at the mandarin breakable or whatnot. | |

| An ugly hack would be to add a Lockpicking bonus to Potence. But it would be a really ugly hack and i don't really like the idea myself. | |

A less ugly hack would be to set a switch with the smash use-icon at the door, and on use, the switch is hidden and the door unlocked. That also needs a events_player on the map, so that on potence activation a script is run to check the strength, and if successfull unhide the switch.

| Interesting. Could this be used for containers as well or only for doors? | |

If it is possible it can be used for anything. But there is still no breaking animation.

| I can live without a breaking animation. There is no opening door animation or typing on the keyboard animation either.
It should also alert any enarby enemies to your location though.

Who says they train potence? - malak wrote:

Hm, in my book, not being detected is 99% of sneakiness.

| In mine, if someone finds you, but you don't let other people know about it, thats sneaky enough (IE killing the first person). | |

And when they find the body, they know someone was there. That's not sneaky, that's messy.

| I often send the body miles away. When I don't, I bury it deep enough. | |

Yes, very convenient especially when you are in apartment in the center of a city Edit: now I'm an Elder!

Even if you can, you need soil under your feet. That rules out all buildings and streets.
