This may sound like a stupid question, but what happens to people who have lost their teeth before they get embraced?
Can they grow fangs anyways? Or do they have to find another method to get the blood out of their "dinner guests"?

I think the teeth are the part that transforms into fangs. So no teeth = no fangs.
Stasis enforced by the Embrace would make regaining teeth via Vicissitude the only way to grow fangs...
Andrei the Dentist Laughing Get an appointment for an oral job at Hallowbrook Hotel today!
Yeah, I could copywrite! Yay! Laughing
Andrei would have hell of flak at Tzimisce gaterings...

Or, maybe there is Tremere ritual for regrowing teeth? There is Ritual of Prom Date, restoring your looks for a night, after all.

But knowing archeological data and modern dental health research, most of Cainites Embraced post mid-XIX century have Flaw: Fangless.

An oral job from Andrei Question Exclamation affraid Blow that...

Of course there is a ritual. There is just a tiny little problem: you need a pair of werewolf-fangs to do it... (freshly taken from a life specimen of course)

Ummm...
I think I would stick with Viccissitude, then.

Having assumed most recently Embraced Cainites are fangless, I strongly postulate bringing as many Tzimisce as possible into the Camarilla. For Masquerade sake. lol!

I'd think growing the missing teeth and straightening the smile would be a "nice" side effect of the embrace, among which there is a correction of eyesight.

I guess it would be up to the ST. I'd say "for the sake of the story", newly embraced kindred get at least the teeth necessary to grow as fangs. Of course, you can always pull the fangs out which is quite problematic and painful, and there are always botched shit that happens for the embrace (fangless flaw)

Those without fangs usually work around to get their blood (knife plus hanging someone upside down, but also, blood packs, blood cults and sexy nurses Very Happy)

This would be the least of your problems if you are Tremere.
There is millions of possibilites to get you blood. When a Tremere is tapping on your shoulder a might already have a
blood sample of yours.

Plus there is the fact that your sire would not normally choose a toothless specimen for the Embrace. Kind of like how Toreador aren't going to pick an ugly person (usually).

Think of how disconcerting it is in real life to see someone with rotted out teeth (like a meth user). Now ask yourself if you would want this person to be around you for hundreds of years. There has to be a really good reason to choose a flawed candidate to be your childe. At the very least, you would let them get veneers/dental bridge before the Embrace... or just feed them vitae and let them heal the missing/rotted teeth.

In my experience, there are two types of players who choose a flaw during character creation:
1) Because it fits their character concept. They WANT to roleplay this flaw.
2) Because they want more points for 'kewl' powers, and they hope the ST won't force them to roleplay their flaws.

I can't actually think of a good reason why someone would have that flaw. Like Duncan said someone would just feed them and allow them to heal.

However I can understand someone choosing not to use their fangs and feed using a knife instead. That makes some sense in my head although granted not much.

Could a ghoul actually regrow teeth, if they were pulled out, and not just broken off?

I doubt... Unless he lost them after getting ghuled. Then it would make sense.

A ghoul is alive, and hence, responds to the laws of nature and biology, so no, he wouldn't regrow teeth

This is one of those "It's up to the Storyteller" situations. Could a ghoul regrow teeth that had been pulled (i.e. healed over)? Probably not, although I could see a case for it. Rotted teeth/cavities? Possible, since the tooth is still there, just damaged. Could someone with crooked teeth regrow them straight? Not without help from their friendly dentist/Tzimisce.

I try not to introduce unnecessary complications into roleplay. Unless your game is like "CSI: Masquerade" and you're searching for a vampire/ghoul with a particular bite pattern, questions about teeth seem useless. You have them, they work well enough, end of story.

We had a similar discussion on the Planet-Vampire forum about someone roleplaying a 'Quadriplegic' flaw. Sure, it's remotely possible that someone in a wheelchair could have some skill or knowledge that would make their sire Embrace them, despite their limited usefulness. But who wants to roleplay in a coterie that constantly has to wheel/carry around some limbless sack of meat? And it's not fair to make the Storyteller and your companions constantly wait on your 'adventures' back in your haven, which is where you belong if you're a quadriplegic.

I can understand the desire to roleplay an interesting character; but just as the Storyteller has a responsibility to make the game interesting for everyone in the group, the players also have a responsibility to not make the Storyteller's job unnecessarily complicated.

Even that depends on the Storyteller.
Cool and creative ideas makes roleplaying really awesome, because that is actually the point were pan & paper outplays computer games because you CAN do everything.
If the GM doesn't want doing much more work, to improve the flair and the setting, then bad for you but RPGs aren't that much fun when the gamers are restrict to the material the GM provides and nothing more.

Creativity is fine, but if your 'creativity' would cause the Storyteller to practically rewrite his game to accomodate your weird-ass character concept, that's kind of self-centered. I've seen players that have tried this crap. If the storyteller spends too much time on your 'special' character, the rest of the group gets less time. That's rude to your fellow players. It's like the one guy on the basketball team who hogs the ball... not cool, if everyone is playing for fun.

An example that comes to mind was a storyteller I knew who spent a lot of game time on his wife's character, with her laundry list of flaws and unlikely background. The rest of the group was just along for the ride, and had little chance to roleplay. Divas are usually not appreciated in PnP RPGs.

If you take up a flaw like that though you have to accept the fact that it will severely limit their ability to interact. Should the GM really make so many concessions? Especially if it's at the expense of other players, that doesn't really sound fair to me. On the other hand I have no idea how the dynamic of pen&paper games work so maybe I'm missing something.

Years ago I played a Malky in a LARP who had the Fangless Flaw, and I explained it as that he had been curb-stomped as a mortal and thus had lost all his teeth (his name was Gummy...) and so did not have fangs as Kindred. He devised a sharpened titanium tube which he referred to as his "Slurpee Straw" with which to feed. I sometimes miss Gummy. Twisted Evil
