| Hmm,
always feel abit cheated if I let him go and not get anything in return.
How about 1-2 xp and a masquerade breach? At least you get sth. Maybe don't put the quest as failed, but it has some consequences. He even could appear later on again on sth different.
Maybe follow up: Murder continues. Take him down ... in Email or so. Hiding now in "place X".

| I like the idea of trading some exp for a masquerade violation. | |

Hiding in place X? You mean up in the theatre, where you're supposed to plant Mitnicks webcam? -

| He has no reason to continue killing since he has killed all those implied in his family murder. | |

| Not completely right. He looks for other people who were not brought to justice. I could imagine there are many more out there especially in the world of darkness. | |

| If he can learn to use a gun or a knife instead of his claws, that's fine by me. - | |

I just did this myself and had the same thought that. Although the wrong choice for Vampire society, it's the probably the most 'human' choice to let him go. Perhaps you let him go, get whatever reward for doing so, then get an e-mail later on from him 'I screwed up, help!' and it turns out to be a Hunter trap. A whole no good deed goes unpunished kind of thing.

| Why always hunters? There can't be so many of them, even in the WoD. From the description odf the bum in the warehouse where you find Milton, he's City-Gangrel (uses obfuscate). So it's more probably a Sabbat trap. - | |

There can't be so many of them, even in the WoD. Just seemed logical with the re-worked Hunters for TFN, and the higher concentration of them in the area thanks to Grunfeld Bach. Also, with the new Hunter - whose name escapes me right now. The Assamites send you after him - in TFN, a report could be added to their computer of potential targets, foreshadowing that they were already tracking down the killer way before you confront him. The Sabbat would work as well though as it would give a chance to show them in a slightly more cunning light than usually portrayed in the game.

| This large hunter presence in TFN is the reason I suggested the Sabbat. For my taste TFN is more than enough kindred versus hunters as it is already. And especially these nights, there are lots of other factions fighting over dominance in LA: Camarilla, Anarchs, Sabbat, Kuey Jin. Then there is at least one independent clan around. So more than enough competition for setting an ambush for the player without using hunters again. - | |

The Tremere are in both CE and TFN, no? Besides, I think that follow up to Serial Killer is a good idea. Using some other faction is a clever one too. But wait... I got an idea. He killed bunch of people, right? So some of the Wraiths thusly created may have him as a Fetter. Highly probable as he killed them slowly and with tender care for details. So maybe Giovanni could use a staked fetter some? Then a rescue mission/cover up mission (since you have reaped the kudos for taking Serial Killer down, and he still lives) comes to mind. Sebastian, Strauss and Nines would be all severly unimpressed that you let such a threat to the Masquerade go... Giovanni, on the other hand are not above using blackmail...

Mages are boring. All they ever think of is throwing fireballs *Ducks behind an asbestos screen...* Sebastian wants to get rid of you anyway. Strauss too, especially if you have sold him out to Isaak. Nines might let that slip, if he can use you as a spy or to fight against the camarilla. Depending on the story state, uncle Bruno, or the one investigating his untimely decease, might also have a few questions in regard of a certain book... -

MAGES MEAN NOTHING. SERIAL KILLERS MEAN NOTHING. THE SOUTHLAND SLASHER IS MY CHILD, AND HE HEARS MY WORDS IN HIS DREAMS. HE SLAYS THE UNWORTHY FOR MY PURPOSES, AND THIS SHOULD BE REFLECTED IN YOUR PETTY LITTLE GAME. IA CTHULHU!
