| Well it's neither a movie nor a video game... But I had picked around for some content about Bloodlines, and found a very very interesting comic, still in progress, on DeviantArt. What do you think ? Here are the four comics : http://lancea.deviantart.com/gallery/?12033136#Vampire-the-Masquerade-comic-1-Interrupted http://lancea.deviantart.com/gallery/?12033136#Vampire-the-Masquerade-comic-2-Ad-End http://lancea.deviantart.com/gallery/?12033136#Vampire-the-Masquerade-comic-3-See-No-Evil http://lancea.deviantart.com/gallery/?12033136#Vampire-the-Masquerade-comic-4-Jericho-Fal |

| Wow! These are really cool. I actually have a small collection of Bloodlines based Fan-Fiction, but I don't know of anyone who'd like to read them, lol. I mostly just write to amuse myself. If anyone here would like to check them out, shoot an e-mail my way, I'd be glad to unload some on you. |

| The writing is, uh ...
All the talk of Discipline made the following exchange spring to mind:
Nos: Ah hah, I see you have fired up Celerity 5. I have Potence 5, and my Gangrel friend has Fortitude 5. Gangrel: Grrr! Nos: And if that's not enough, our Ventrue companion has Dementation 5, which ca- Ven: Domination. Nos: What? Ven: You said "Dementation." Nos: Right. What's the difference? Both pretty much kill at level 5, right? Ven: Well, I suppose as a practical matter there's not much difference. But that whole Malkavian thing ... Nos: Yeah, they give me the creeps. Gangrel: Not as creepy as Tremere. Struass (off stage): I heard that! Tor: You're one to talk about creepy, Nos. Kine: Can I go now? Tor: Just hang loose, hun, we'll hash this out soon enough. Kine: But I just want ... All: Shut up! Kine: OK, ok ... Nos: Here it comes, the typical Toreador shallowness. "Look at me, I'm so beautiful." Bleh! Gangrel (to Kine): I'll tear your soul apart! Nos: Please, that sounds like something a Brujah would say. Nines (off stage): I heard that! Ven (musing): I think Tzimisce are the creepiest. Andrei (off stage): I heard that, Camarilla puppet! The sarcophagus must be destro- Nos: Can it, Andrei. Andrei (muttering, off stage): Miserable gutterspawn ... Tor: Can we get on with this? Nos: At this point, I don't remember what we were doing. Kine: Really, if you let me go, I won't te- Ven: Listen, mortal, one more word and I'll unleash Dementa-, Christ, now you've got me doing it, Domination 5 on you, the stuff of your blackest nightmares. Nos: "Stuff of your blackest nightmares?" Sounds like "Dementation" to me. Ven: I didn't mean it literally. I was just being descriptive. Tor: Are we actually going to do something here? Ven (to Kine): No one here but us chickens. There, now he won't remember a thing. Nos: Except the chickens. Gangrel: Can we go now? Nos: Hey, I know, let's walk over to The Asylum and go up to the office and gossip about the other "sister." That's always fun. Ven: It is. Tor: I'm in. Gangrel: Grrr! |

Thanks, man. Gangrel is my favorite Clan, and I don't view them as mindless killing machines.
Grr! |

I'm assuming the nude woman, who I also assume is a Toreador, used Celerity. What level it was is up to debate, no doubt. I just found it odd that the Nosferatu responded with "God, I hate that Discipline," like she was a player in a table-top RPG commenting on another PC's, or NPC's, use of Celerity. |

I wouldn't if I were playing in a table-top VtM game, not in character, anyway. It kind of breaks the fiction, like playing Dungeons & Dragons and saying "I'm going to cast Magic Missile." Sure, the spell is called Magic Missile, but reducing magical abilities to just their rulebook names and stats (I admit, I added the talk about levels in my parody) is pretty darn mood-breaking for me.
If I were the GM of a table-top VtM game, I would ask players to write a note to me what Disciplines they are going to use. I've done the same when I GM fantasy RPGs and a player wants his character to cast a spell. Everyone's different, though, and some people don't like to get bogged down in writing notes. But note-writing increases RP (in my opinion). |

| Thanks, Max. At the risk of breaking my arm by patting myself on the back, I do think it's kind of funny when I go back and re-read it. I can just hear Andrei's voice drifting in from off-stage to complain.
