Feeding On Other Vampires? Empty
PostSubject: Feeding On Other Vampires?   Feeding On Other Vampires? EmptyTue Jul 16, 2013 6:53 pm

Perhaps a question that might fit into an existing topic, and may need to be merged if so.

Anyway, what I refer to is not explicitly about a social situation, i.e where there is a willingness to the act on on the part of both Vampires involved, or if a Vampire is forced to feed on another's blood to be bound to them by it.

Rather, it is more in a physical sense, i.e if two Vampires are involved in a fight, and one bites the other, is the one being bitten able to break free of it?

Yes.

The one doing the biting is one step towards Blood Oath too.

I read about it in various books on the topik of Diablerie (google it), where it is important to imobilize the targer/free oneself (extended grapple roll), as well as in Clannovel Ventrue, Dark Ages, where Jurgen bits Tzimisce Furora. Good read BTW.

"Any Kindred, regardless of Willpower, may make a Self-Control roll (difficulty 8)to avoid succumbing to the Kiss.  This enables victims of Diablerie to have a chance of fighting back."  (pgs. 139-140, VtM Core Rulebook, Revised)  Don't know about VtR, or the V20 rules, but I'll bet they have a similar rule.

Bloodlines won't allow you to feed on Kindred, period.

Most humans cannot resist the effects of the 'Kiss' unless they are "Exceptionally strong-willed" (9+ Willpower), and even then it is only for a short time, before they succumb to the pleasure.

Unless you're Giovanni, or have the 4-point flaw 'Grip of the Damned'.  Then your Kiss is not pleasurable, it's painful.

I see. I was thinking this might be the case, but I wanted to be sure.

Although it isn't a outstanding place where I intend to use the fact. An somewhat offhand thought by a character, which I thought might sound odd if the fact was wrong.

She had other kindred do the same to her in a fight, and the feelings aside, they could be fought off

As much as I want to post the entire paragraph, it might either reveal way to much, or spoil something.

Considering the fact that most Kindred aren't given very thorough training about their abilities (for fear it might be used against their sire), a few misconceptions are not only understandable, they are almost inevitable.

But in a story, the characters usually find these things out the hard way... or they don't survive.  Smile  That's how you tell whether they're the protagonist.  LOL
