| Do you want a basic shotgun (the 2barrel sawed off Wesp usues for the dragon breath, but with normal shells instead of phosphorous rounds) right from the start. And if you do, where should I make it available? My ideas sofar include -give it to the .38-using thug in the tutorial -Trip -gift from Mercurio for returning his money or morphine -find it in Carson's apartment (prior to or after his recue) | |

| I vote Carson before rescue. I like the idea of Mercurio giving it once money or meds are given (giving compensation for the bother or the money, but they give already xp and humanity), but Carson's flat makes more sense and it renders the secondary quests a bit more attractive | |

| I have to agree with Claudia's reasoning here. | |

| I think there may be better uses for item slots, I don't see new weapons as necessary. But I never use them, anyway | |

Yea, for most of the game I'm also happy with knife and Glock. But I've heard there are people out there who like to always use a bigger gun, or play with axes, hammers, and whatnot... So why not make them happy as well? -

| Sword, guns, fists, it doesn't matter on what weapon it is, it all depends on the user~
But what ISNT fun hacking people with a f***ing Fire Axe?
I voted "Carson after rescue", but only because if you took it and said that it's his (or the factor that he's gotta notice it's his gun you're using), you could say that you've picked it up and he lets you keep it as a signature for resignation.

| My idea for using the sawed off sometime near the start was to give firearms players a bit more choice in Santa Monica. All they have is this stupid saturday night special. And the idea of finding it only after you resued Carson was that he left it behind as a reward for you. - | |

| I voted no, but if you must please make it come from some source not connected to the prince or his agents.
Being left on your own with a crappy weapon at this stage is good storytelling, as the prince at this stage wants you to fail/die. It's only after your success at the warehouse were you are afforded any actual assistance/value (new haven, cash from the prince, etc).

| Can you create the automatic shotgun, the one you can fire without pulling the... thing, after every shot? The SPAS something? 8 Bullets of pure melee hell.
Oh yeah after Carson rescue seems a lot more rewarding, and more fitting, like "it's his shotgun... he won't miss it, right?"

Forget it. The first option to get the pump action is after the diner assault. And I'm not giving anyting more poweful before that. Period.

| Just reviewed this topic. And I have come to a conclusion. The gun will be in Carson's trunk. Lockpick 7 before the rescue, open after. He sends an email telling you to take it, and maybe a bit more... | |

| Shit. Doesn't work. I thought I could at least use any weapon slot for any weapon. But melee or ranged is also hardcoded. | |
