 Does the Final Nights Patch override Bloodlines?

PostSubject: Does the Final Nights Patch override Bloodlines?   Sun Nov 02, 2014 3:05 am

Not sure if this has been asked already, but, seeing as how there are a cubic crap-ton of posts and I'm tired, I'm not digging through all of them to see if this has been answered. Therefor, my apologies if this has already been asked.

Is The Final Nights it's own separate thing? Or does it completely override the existing copy of Bloodlines that's on my computer? Next question with that, does it still require the disk to be inserted to run?

Sorry to bother you, and thank you for the AMAZING job. I can't wait to play through the new clans.

Every patch or mod ovewrites the game. So you can only have one at a time. And don't try to install a mod over a newer version of the patch. First you lose all the new features from the patch anyway, and second you invite trouble.

What you can do however is create multiple installations: Install the game once, and then before installing a patch or mod make copies of the whole bloodlines directory including all files and subdirectories. Then you can install one version of the game on each copy, and have all the different versions available at the same time.

Cool. Thank you very much. Wasn't sure just how in depth the coding had gone as to whether it was outright its own separate game. It's just a specific patch of its own, if I'm understanding properly. And, I know how to go ahead and copy the whole thing just in case there's something about a new patch or mod that doesn't work or just doesn't fit my play-style. Thank you for the answer.

Question: What's the farthest out in the normal VTM:B patches that was taken on before switching over to the Final Nights? Or should I just go ahead and install the game anew in a different location just to cover my ass?

Best to install on official 1.2 patch, unless it says otherwise. There's usually a text file included Wink

No need for that. All the major mods (CE, CQM, TFN) are based on Wesps patch and therefore include the official 1.2 patch.
