There is a chance I'm being overly dramatic, but this is really, really bad. The gas attack itself was an obvious false flag operation. With Russia's help the Assad regime was winning the war so they had no motive. The only people with a motive are the rebels or people within the US who want to start a direct military intervention.

This is going to be Iraq all over again, except with the potential to spark a war between USA and Russia.

I expected this from Hillary, but Trump? Who's all cozy with Russia, and against the wars?
Just goes to show that it doesn't matter the puppet, the dance is always the same.

But alas, I hope and don't think WW3 will happen.

No oil in Syria, really. Some pipelines, but this mostly it. Beirut office was busted trafficking drugs since the 1980s. The Lockerbie plane crash was by CIA, so not to let four operatives testify before Congress. Case hushed, but an attempt to blame Qaddafi died in Scottish and Belgian courts...
Oil is only a part of it, heroin from Middle East and SE Asia as well as cocaine from S America.

While I don't think Trump is a puppet to Putin, I could see Putin running a gamble like that. Not a bad theory in my opinion either way.
