| Aye, and in a critical enough situation your body will let go of these restrictions. So we can have things like a 65+ grandma lifting cars away to help her grandsons
Honestly I think it's a combination of - How unique the Earth is - How difficult and uncommon it is for life to evolve up to a point a race may space travel - How modafucking big the galaxy and universe are and how little our capacity to check for intelligent life is
While we're talking about space, yo yuropeons play any sci fi games? Since I have a boner for strategy I'm playing Endless Space 2 right now. Bunch of aliens killed my colonies cuz they thought I would be easy pickings, so now I'm steamrolling through them

| A friend of mine showed me Stelaris, but I simply have no time for more than a quest or two of Skyrim before sleep... | |

| I think I have Endless Legend somewhere. Did not spark interest. Tried Galactic Civilizations, found it boring.
So I'm still Mass Effect-ing. Currently filling the role of a pin-ball.

| Well, considering how close we came to nuclear war several times during the 20th century it may be that your typical civilization does not keep it's ability to send out electromagnetic waves into space for more than a few decades. Let's be generous and say 200 years. In order to receive any transmissions you'd then have to not only point your antenna in the right direction but also do it within a specific period of 200 years. Do it at any point during the millions of years before and after that specific 200 year period and you get nothing.
It's been a while since I played any space games. I think the last one was Galactic Civilizations 1 and before that Master of Orion 1 & 2 and Space Empires 3.
These days I usually play Morrowind ironman. I stopped counting how many characters I have gone through and I've only managed to complete the main quest once. The most common cause of death is hubris.

| Morrowind is hard... It is not Skyrim. Always carry a ton of healing potions, Divine/Almasivi Intervention scrolls and be cautious. Deadric ruins and corpus infested Strongholds are the most deadly... | |

| That father should tell the teacher that it's sexist to assume purple means female.
As for the difficulty of Morrowind, it has a very tough start but a ridiculously easy endgame. Though the mods I made change the balance quite a bit, making the early game significantly easier and the endgame significantly harder.
The biggest change I made was that I no longer get any health from levels. Instead my health is a flat 2x Endurance. So I start with roughly twice as much health as normal (which is frankly needed when death equals making a new character), but you cant have any more than 200 no matter how much you level up. And speaking of leveling up, I modded it so that all the attribute multipliers are always 1 so when I do level up all I get out of it are 3 stat points.

| You make Morrowind hard on yourself, Draggy...
The father should sue the kindergarten for assuming his child's gender... Another liberal cured.
Hannibal should start with the guy above him... World wouldn't get much better from it, but saner for sure.
