 (Fixed) First Issue

Just sat through the turning scene for Salubri and when it was about to go to the prince scene I got the following error:
"no precache: models/character/npc/unique/the_final_nights/intro/ventrue_staker2/ventrue_staker2.mdl"
and my game crashed..>>

and another, before I even got to the first scene this time with Salmedi:
no precache: models/character/npc/common/goth_kids/male/goth_male.mdl

Just tried Settites with the same result as the first. Trying another clean install to see if I've made some errors..

Fresh install and same problem.. I can't seem to play this game.. Sad

Hmmm, I watching the Salubri opening scene right now and it's working fine. Yah, you might want to reinstall Bloodlines.

It seems I'm just having no luck, a full uninstall and reinstall and this is my only copy on this computer of VTM and still it's causing the same fail point. I don't think this has anything to do with it but the other character in the turning scene has no skin what so ever, just a patchwork of purple and black.

Using CD's for installation and running Windows XP

I just installed my own fresh copy of Bloodlines, I'm going to copy over the same file you have and see if it does the same thing. I'll report my findings here in a minute.

Shit, same thing just happened to me. Well I'll be up late tonight, lol.

Boy o Boy did I f*ck up!! Well, the good news is I still have the working copy on my computer but it's the full version of the game, so what I'm going to do is go through it and delete anything I we don't need to make it as small as I can, then repackage it and get it out to you guys.

Ahh well at least we found this problem early. Don't be too worried about it if you can't get it fixed tonight, I'm sure no ones going to complain about you getting some sleep before fixing it. Good to see it's not just my computer though, I was a little worried..

I figured out the problem, stupid me... I should've figured this out when the file size was only around 650MB uncompressed.

Ok, here's what happened. Over the past 10 months any file that I change I store off to the side in a special "TFN" folder. Well I gave you guys that folder which is nice n all, unfortunately it completly slipped my mind that I built TFN on top of CE 1.2. Well I accidently didn't give you guys CE 1.2 w/ TFN Beta.

So here's what I did, I took the whole directory that I've been working out of and trimmed all the fat off of it. I got it down to 1.2GB in size uncompressed which is huge I know. After compressing it the size is now 816MB which is still huge. I guess that makes sense being that CE 1.2 and TFN Beta are both combined.

What's really making this expansion big in size are all the new .wav and .mp3 files. The graphical stuff is pretty small but the new sounds I added like the diner music, the opening game song, etc is really what's killing us but hey, it's all in the name of a great game!

I'm going to upload it which will probably take 3 hours, then I'll go to bed and get you guys the link tomorrow morning (my time, afternoon for you europeans).

Again I apologize, the 350MB (compressed) size should've tipped me off.

got some errors when unpacking, something regarding archive being corrupt....but hey, the game works. It's just that the menu background is a set of pink squares instead of a proper image and I'm guessing this ain't right. Haven't tried re-downloading yet, but I will and see if it got corrupted somehow during the downloading.

PGM1961 just reported the same error. I wonder if something got corrupted on the way up from my computer to the file hosting server. Going to download now and see what I get.

It's strange because normally Filesend is a very reliable server. I used them for CE 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2 without any problems. Well I'm downloading now so we'll see.

I haven't installed your latest upload yet Z, I'm giving out candy and stuff to the kids, but thought I'd check back...is the current file on Filesend corrupt?

Just extracted my download, a couple of the music files failed but I don't think it should cause and problems, just about to test the game now.
