Ads may not be targeting the right crowd Empty
PostSubject: Ads may not be targeting the right crowd   Ads may not be targeting the right crowd EmptyWed Dec 01, 2010 4:58 am

I just happened to look up at some of the banner ads on this site. One was for 'Immortal Night', a vampire werewolf MMORPG. At first glance this might seem like the perfect ad for this site, but if you examine it, the artwork makes it look like a cross between 'Twilight' and 'Underworld'. The latter movie was pretty good, but I don't know anyone on this site who liked Twilight. If it's like that, I doubt anyone here would be interested.

So I went to their website to see what it was about. the 'Rules' link didn't work, and I didn't feel like signing up to find out any more. But it talks about Vampires and 'Lycans', and talks about going around the world, feeding and fighting to make your House powerful.

I won't be signing up. I just wondered if anyone else has even looked at the ad. Would you register to play this game, based on the little information they give?

I havent noticed the ad at all. I usually simply do not pay any atention to ads. And, consequently, won't play the game. Twilight? Grrrrrr...

For some reason when I login I never see ads, only when I'm not signed in do I see ads. Are you seeing ads when you login, I didn't think anyone who did could see them.

The game is based on the Underworld mythos. Most of the artwork is made by the people who run the game and the more talented fans who throw pens at the people who made it. It's a simple game much like any of the average 'browser RPGs'... forgettable. I think I played it for all of four days whilst bored at school.

I may not have been logged in. I usually don't have to Log in when I visit this site, so when I do it's kind of random. When logged in I don't see the banners, but I do see text ads. At the moment they're ads for coupons in Dallas and Fort Worth (my area).

Anyway, just curious. I thought it was funny -- from the artwork, the game looked like Twilight, and my first thought was "Boy, do THEY have the wrong crowd!" Smile

LOL ya... You know I can pay money to make all ads go away from this site, I've even considered it once or twice. It's like $20 per year or something like that. Should I look into doing that?

LOL, actually I should probably buy some sound recording equipment for future NPCs. Well I guess all I would really need is a microphone, I can pirate the rest. Maybe my wife would be so kind as to do the female NPCs, or someone from this forum.
