Here are few bugs that I've stumbled upon:
In character creation choose any history and distribute all points (in sheet panel).
Go back to clan/gender/history panel and choose another history - new points for distribution appear without previous ones being reset.
This can be done unlimited number of times.
Level 4 an 5 of Animalism can't be found on the right side of screen by using mouse scroll.
Icons simply don't exist but you can assign hotkey (using K for hotkey setup) and then they show up on the right side.
I wasn't able to find exact scenario for this but game crashes if you click through character histories a lot

If you use the histories exploit to get extra points, in the Tutorial Jack will make snide comments. The game knows you've got too many points. Not sure whether this was put in there by Wesp5 in the unofficial patches, or if it was in the vanilla game. (It's been too long since I've seen it; I was playing with the Ventrue histories and changed my mind, then couldn't undo the first history.)
The histories themselves are part of the original game code, if I remember correctly. But there were problems (perhaps the ones you pointed out), and Troika disabled them and left them off the Character Creation screen in the vanilla game.

the random crashes after trying several different histories is one of the unsolvable mysteries of this game, as is the exploit possibility.
To avoid the exploit if you change your mind on the history, you have to click the "reset stats" button before going back to the clan selection part of the charcreator.
I think Jack's remarks are part of the original game. If I recall right the do have voice, so they must have been there all along.

If I really wanted to exploit I would just use cheats
Not having animalism 4&5 upset me and that idea with hotkey came to mind as I was typing original post and I've left it like that in case it really is a bug.
... and the whole reason for this mess was my inability to download Read Me for CE 1.4 mode.

Don't worry about asking questions that have already been answered, even if it's a thousand times. I hate it when I'm a new person showing up on a forum and I have a specific question that I want answered immediately. I go to ask the question without reading through thousands of hours of posts, then all the veteran members yell at me for not "doing my homework" or "reading the other posts" first.
It always makes me feel unwelcomed and I usually get my answer and never go back to that site again. I don't want TCI to be like that so I discourage the whole "READ THE OTHER POSTS FIRST YOU IDIOT!!" type of comments around here. I want everyone to feel welcomed enough to be able to "ask their stupid questions" without fear of being yelled at. In my opinion, if it was a question that was asked in the first place, then somebody wanted to know, therefore it wasn't a stupid question.
Just my .02 cents
