Alright I found a good Vampire the Masquerade 3rd Edition character sheet !
So, explainations \o/Name
: the name of the character (hooray !)Player
: you, my friend Chronicle
: Well, that's how the GM named his campaign or so (berlin by night, bloodlines, TCI campaign, Claudia's story..)Nature
: the Nature of your character : who is he truly in his heart ? (visionnary, rebel, architect, bon vivant, child....)Demeanor
: what your character shows to others, what's his facade to the rest of the worls. (shows himself as a traditionnalist, rebel, care-giver...)Clan
: Well... your clan, pal !Generation
: We covered that up on the other topics Haven
: where you live Concept
: Ambulance Driver, Prince of the City, Regent of the Chantry, ex-policeman, social poseur, prophet, daydreamer, gangrel serial killer... the concept what your character "worked in" most of the time, just before the embrace, it's one or two words to sketch the character.Attributes
: no difference to Bloodlines', so I won't explain them Abilities
: the same as bloodlines, except we have many many more !
Talents are innate, skills are trained, and knowledge are studied.Alertness
(or awareness) is your hability to.. well to be aware or alert. It's passive. When someone is about to attack you from behind, you're going to need to check Perception + Alertness to notice and react.Athletics
: jump, run, stretch, climb, dive... Lara Croft's main ability !Brawl
: no secret in that one, how well can you fight with your bare hands (and claws). Aikido, Karate, KungFu.. that's all brawl.Dodge
: ... dodge !Empathy
: That's how well you understand and feel what others are feeling.. and manipulate them if you wish Expression
: poetry, rap, how well you can put in to words right now what you want to say, in a beautiful way. Expression is what's used when a General will boost his troops by giving a speach he improvises. It's to be able to get the idea clearly transmited (I do not have this !)Intimidation
: that's your capacity to.. well.. intimidate people.Leadership
: your capacity to.. well.. lead people Oo. Sects and stuff, manSubterfuge
: alright that's an easy one : subterfuge is who well do you LIE ! XDAnimal Ken
: now this is obligatory if you do not want animals flee you when you're around. Animal ken is how well you're able to understand animals and pet them. Horses are afraid of their shadows, petting a cat and getting him to purr... Animalism is based on this traitCrafts
: potery, jewelry, lego, coockies, origami.. crafts is your ability to make stuff with your hands Drive
: without this, you do not know how to drive. 1 dot means you can drive automatic cars, and two manuals. then it's up to Formula 1Etiquette
: manners and knowing when to shut up, Etiquette is Elyseum's friendFirearms
: how well can you use guns, rifles and stuff. Usually, but it depends on the GM, when you pick firearms, you put into parenthesis what kind of weapon you learned to use (it's not the same to fire a 9mm than a bazooka, even if they are both firearms). Firearms also takes everything you throw (grenades, water ballons..)Melee
: how well do you do with melee weapons ? swords, batons, fireaxe, a door...Performance
: piano playing, singing, dancing... Security
: lockpicking, opening cars and reparing stuff, the same as bloodlines Stealth
: the same as bloodlines, stealth is Obfuscate main ability. Hiding, getting desguises...Survival
: poison mushrooms, edible plants, knowing north, being able to hike, camp, survive in the desert... Well, for a Vampire, survival gets a bit different too, but that's all about it.Academics
: basicly anything you learn in school. Literature, history, arts, philosophy, liberal sciences and everything on the human side of the world.Computer
: your ability to use a computer and anything of informatics. without computer, you can use your phone, but point and click is out of reach.Finance
: no sweat, finances is your knowledge of how economics work, how to invest, where to keep your money, getting track of crashes and stuff.Investigation
: noticing details nobody got, follow leads and do correct research, that's Holmes' area of expertise. Law
: and not only human law ! exploit the traditions and whatnot to keep your head on your shoulders.. Ambulance chaser, pal !Linguistics
: how many languages do you know ? linguistic structures, grammar points...Medecine
: and torture ! First aids to true chirurgical procedures..Occult
: curses, magic, new age, everything on occult areas, basic truths of the world, or not !Politics
: influence or dealing with political mortals, and even local political kindred stuff going onScience
: well... Science, mal ! pure sciences, maths, physics, astronomy, chimestry...Backround
Backround takes in account everything your character has with creation. Money, allies, servants, influences, contacts, fame, herd, mentor, retainers, status.. All Backround are just dots to quantify your "relations" and "possessions". The one backround that's very specific is the Generation backround. Each point in the Generation backround will lower your generation by one. Without any points, the PC is 13th generation, but with the 5 maximum you can be up to 8th generation.Disciplines
I do not need to explain this one to you guys, but powers are slightly different in the game (combat stuff and mechanics).Virtues
yay new stuff !
Virtues keep a track of what you would do in extreme circumstances, except during Frenzy. Yep, ethical code, fear, terror and when the character is disturbed by something. Do not mind conviction/instincts, that's for specific paths (other than humanity)Conscience
: little voice telling you what's right and wrong, conscience gives you a moral judgment and remorses.Self Control
: How well can you master your Beast ? How well do you resist temptation.. ?Courage
: Stand in face of Fire, Fear, sunlight, true faith, and anything that scares the shit out of you, man ! And looking like you don't even care \o/Humanity
Humanity is your level of what's acceptable and what's not. Will you go all the way to be sensitive, to understand what's going on, and keep it at human level. The lower the humanity, the more you sleep, stay in torpor, and the less you look and feel human. The lower the humanity, the less you care about your conscience and local laws, and there you go down the spiral...
Humanity is equal to conscience + self controlWillPower
This trait has two traits, alright.
Willpower is about overcoming everything standing in your way to frustrate you. That means about everything ! Willpower is the last fence before frenzy, letting go, being tempted to hit the Prince, or fighting Dominate, fighting the fear and survive.
Permanent willpower is static, while temporary willpower is what you spend for disciplines, for moving when your body tells it doesn't want to. Temporary will power is gained through by your Nature. If you act through your Nature, you feel good about yourself and feel better about what keeps you going Merits and Flaws
There are a bunch of Merits (that cost points) and Flaws (that gives points). You wear glasses ? that's a flaw. You're ambidextre ? That's a Merit. The Tremere Primogen hates you ? That's a flaw. The Prince owes you something ? That's a merit. You were embraced before age 10 ? That's a flaw. You're missing an arm ? That's a flaw. You have a Mage friend ? That's a Merit (if nobody finds out XD). You're deaf ? Flaw. Your sire is very prestigeous ? That's a good social Merit \o/
There are Physical, Social, Mental and Surnatural flaws and Merits. The list is as long as the trip between Zer0's house and mine, so, don't mind them.
We'll find some together when we'll create your characters, after all they are important to your character concept, so if your character is the baseball guy who plays despite being blind, then you'll have the blind flaw, but if it's a flaw you don't even care for to think about them when you create the character, then you don't need the extra points
Merits and Flaws are just a way of writting down to the system something that's in the BG of the character, the charactersheet is only after your imagination has given birth to the Character. After the player has thought of what's going on, where the character wants to go, why, how, then you crack the dots and count with your fingers Bloodpool
Crayons ! Add, erase, add, erase, use, dring... crayons and erasers \o/
Your bloodpool maximum, and how much bloodpoints you can spend in one turn is limited by your generation by this chart :
Generation / quantity of bloodpoints / bloodpoints per turn
13 / 10 / 1
12 / 11 / 1
11 / 12 / 1
10 / 13 / 1
9 / 14 / 2
8 / 15 / 3Health
Well... nothing really to explain, except maybe there are three types of damage in the WoD, but only two apply to Vampires. The -1 means the number of dice you lose if you get wounded (bleeding all over the place makes you loose credibility when trying to seduce someone !). (you don't lose dice to soak dammage, to think what to do, willpower checks or virtues check..)
Contendant dammage (a fist, a baseball bat) is divided by half for vampires (hit a cadaver all you like..). It's also called Bashing.
Lethal dammage (knife, bullets, acid, falling from high heights..) is treated as contendant dammage by vampires.
Aggravated dammage is everything done by supernatural sources (magic, claws, werewolf bite) is aggravated. For vampires, we add fire, sun and true faith to the list of aggravated dammage, and silver weapons do aggravated to werewolves.
You heal by spending blood : one blood point heals one case of "normal" (contendant or lethal) dammage.
At character creation, starting characters get to spend :
Attributes : state your priority between Physical, Mental and Social.
7 points, 5 points and 3 points
(none above 4 at this point)
Abilities : state your priority between Skills, Talents and Knowledges
13 Points, 9 points and 5 points.
(none above 3 a this point)
Spend five points in your Background section
Spend three points in your three clan disciplines.
Spend 7 points in your virtues
Add Conscience + Self Control, that is your Humanity.
Willpower is equal to your courage
Get merit and flaws : no more than 7 points of either (you can get 7 points of merits and 5 points of merits, but you'll have only 13 freebie points)
Spend freebie points
15 freebies to spend :
5 for each attribute, 2 for each ability, 2 for virtues (but they don't raise humanity/WP), one for each background point, one for humanity (or you can lower your humanity up to two points to gain 2 freebies, 7 per discipline point)
