Question about Bordeaux's Malkavians

Reading through the Background section, I saw an entry about Victor Sainte-Croix that confused me. It read, "Surely embraced by Gosuin during the first World War, Victor became the Malkavian Primogen because his sire has many contacts, that's evident."

So is he Malkavian, or Ventrue? The entry also reads, "Victor is an example to the poor Malkavian clan." A Ventrue serving as Malkavian Primogen? I am confused.

Well, Victor was a Malkavian Embraced by Gosuin, and he's now the Malkavian Primogen, because his "Sire" Gosuin had enough contacts and influence to make him Primogen. The Ventrue Primogen seat is already taken by Gosuin himself, so Victor has charge of those poor madmen

The Malkavian clan is all about confusing players and characters, this is why it's written that way

Now I understand... I'm supposed to be confused.
