PostSubject: no blood no heath problems   Mon Nov 30, 2009 8:46 am

Just install clan 1.2 mod (which has camarilla 1.1 included) and am really enjoying it. Just a couple of questions however.

1.When I use the disapline autere (not sure of spelling) somtimes it uses a blook point sometimes it does not? I looked the the text file and it says it uses -0, so I assume this means itshould always use 0?

Also, I finding that if my blood level reaches zero, it is having no effect on my heath (it is stated that it should in the camarilla manual) so, for example if I am underground and alone with no blood and little heath, eventaull my heath will build back to full?

I did have q few problems with the inatall, but evetually I wne fresh install, 1.2, 6.6 and then 1.2 clan, which I enent up installing the the actavision\bloodline-masquarde\vampire folder. Don't know if this has anything to do with the problems I am having. Everything else so far seems to be working great (only early in the game however).

Any help would be greatly appreciated as the idealogy behind this mod is fantastic.

Hm, i haven't tried clan myself, but i think i can help you on some issues on CE and the installation.

It would be good to know what clan you're playing, but i assume you're speaking of auspex. That's a problem in the game engine. Zer0morph has planned auspex to cost no blood, but if you set any discipline on auto-renew, it costs the amount of blood that was planned in the original game (1 per activation in that case).

Do you really get so low on blood Question How do you manage to do that? No

About the installation: you don't need the official patch 1.2, it's included in all the mods you use. CE and clan is based on Wesps base patch version 6.5. If you use the UP 6.6 plus patch, that may cause trouble. I'd suggest just installing the base game and then clan mod which includes CE 1.1. I haven't installed UP6.6 yet, but from the description, at least the base is mostly cosmetic, compared to 6.5.

Nice job on the tech support! afro

With Auspex (and this was an issue addressed with Lofgren awhil back) that when first using it the blood cost is 0, however if you renew the discipline while it is still active it will cost the original cost of 1 blood. This problem was addressed and fixed in CE 1.2, Auspex now costs 1 blood regardless in CE 1.2.

The way Low Blood vs. Health works is this...
When you drop below 50% blood, then as you continue to lose blood through natural means (not through discipline usage) you will take health damage which will regenerate like normal. Losing all of your blood does not kill you but you WILL take health damage like I said above, but of course it always regenerates. The problem with having low blood (besides the obvious) is you will tend to frenzy often until you find blood making the game tough in combat and non-combat situations.

Burgermeister01 was the one who merged CQM with CE 1.1. I personally don't support or know exactly how he has it setup so that is something you should take up with him. You can usually reach him on PlanetVampire or on his thread which is located at the bottom of this board.

I can say that CE 1.1 comes with UP 6.5 so all you have to do is install CE 1.1, don't install anything after that including 6.5. But again I'm not sure how CQM mingles with CE 1.1.

Thanks for the timely response guy. Just to clarify

1.My istall of 1.2, 6.5, and 1.2 clan should still work fine even though 6.5 had the 1.2 official?

2. I am indeed talking about Auspex, and am in the pretty boy clan (the one that mingles well with humanity) and yes I did notice that if you power this disaplie while it is running it always uses a blood point. However, the random nature of somtimes using, somtimes not using blood it definatley there (maybe my mouse speed is registering it as two button presses somtimes-will investigate).

3. Just to really understaand the blood loss/ heath, so every time you loss a blood point (when it below 50% & by natural means(time)) you get a heath hit (is this a big chuck as I do seem to recall this happening)? Which would mean that by the time the next blood point was lost your heath would have regenerated back to full. Of couse if you have no blook the this dynamic actually stops. Is this right, and as you said the effects would be tend to compound trouble when in combat or heavily populated area, not alone in a drain somewhere. (BTW I got to this level of blood as a trial to see what happens)

Lastly, damn you have made a great mod, and still working on it 5 years after. Its just a shame the game produces did not really understaand what they had when they made this game, and no days we tend to get so much "pretty" crap.

1. Again I can't really comment on how CQM 1.2 mingles with CE 1.1, but I can say that if you are only playing CE 1.1 then thats all you need to install over the original vanilla Bloodlines game (Bloodlines 1.0).

2. It shouldn't be random, it should cost 0 blood when you activate it, and 1 blood to maintain it.

3. Yes after 50% you will suffer a large health hit when you lose blood naturally. But never will this kill you and you will still regenerate the health back before the next drop of blood loss.

Thanks for the compliments, I can't until you play CE 1.2, it blows CE 1.1 out of the water.

I too have dropped my blood level down to zero but I did it on purpose just to test the blood loss effects. The hit on health does happen at 50% and can have a major effect if you are in combat. Mostly having zero blood means that you can't use your disciplines, including blood heal, so if you are in the warrens or in combat, you are going to need some luck in not dying.
