| Hi everybody,
I downloaded the Final Nights mod not so long ago, didn't went too far into it though. However, not long ago I realized I had never played as a Tremere and I wanted to try it out a bit. Except now I see no way of uninstalling the mod. How does that work? I tried simply uninstalling the whole game then downloading it again (I got a virtual version from the Steam store) but when it comes back the mod is still there. Is there a way of uninstalling the mod? Thanks in advance for your answers

| I don't really know about steam, but I'd say you have to manually delete your bloodlines folder before reinstalling the game. - | |

| If my memory doesn't fail me when uninstalling the game there is an option which asks if you want to keep save games and any changes previously made to the game, you have to choose no, if you did that already then just delete the folder manually like malkav suggested and install it again. | |

| ...okay I did something stupid.
I didn't think enough before acting, and I deleted the files before uninstalling the game. Now Steam can't uninstall it. Since it isn't uninstalled, I can't download it again. I'm afraid I screwed up my whole game.

I'm afraid I screwed up my whole game. Steam shouldn't do that... did you do it manually or did you use steam's own "remove local files" option? Once you do that you can also delete any left overs. Then just reinstall it.

| I did it manually. I went into the SteamApps folder and deleted the "Vampire the masquerade - Bloodlines" file that contained the game. Now, when I ask Steam to "remove local files" there's a pop-up reading "delatingb %game%..." and then, nothing. And I can't play the game, and I can't donwload it again. | |

Urf. Well, have you scanned the forums? I've found the Steam forums pretty useful for troubles I've had with a few games... and the steam engine itself.

| Maybe you could uninstall the steam client itself? If that doesn't even work, maybe a reinstall of the OS. I dunno, how steam works still confuses me. | |

Yes, that would probably work (complete uninstall/reinstall of steam). Just make sure after uninstalling that all the game files were removed. What a pain that would be for him tho'. :/ Ah well. I use steam and it is convenient most of the time, but sometimes it is a pain (sometimes it has been a real pain with mods for other games). I've been playing Fallout 3 with a bunch of mods lately and sometimes they often note whether or not they will work with Steam. On top of THAT, that silly microsoft cloud save thing kicks in and causes problems sometimes too. For example, it (Fallout) noted that there was downloadable content... but if you clicked it IN GAME it wanted to go through Microsoft. But the same downloads are available in Steam. I always wonder if I use MS vs Steam what would happen... so I always use steam but... I ramble. Sorry!

Hey Feral! Long time no talkie! My holiday was good though I'm not really back, I just wanted to stop in and see what was going on. I've been playing and modding Fallout 3 since I left and it's been fun but I'd really like to actually play TFN since enough time has passed and I've completely forgotten everything I've done. So yeah, I'm not back as a modder, just a player......... for now.
