Faulty Text

Hi all, I've just started playing TFN and has immediately encountered a problem, the description text (like the ones in the Character page describing about attributes) all have lines between every second or third letter, making them quite illegible. I'm running the Chinese version of Win7 64bit Home Basic, so maybe it's because of the language version?

Also the main menu suggests the game is best played at res 1280, but the highest res option I've got in the menu is 1024, so how do you do it?

Lastly an unrelated problem, I've got a AMD Radeon HD6650M for vid card, and it doesn't seem to cope well with Bloodlines, whenever there's a lot of particle effects (like activating Auspex in first-person or flames), the game lags a lot. Is there anyway to fix this?

For your resolution problem, go into the \tools subdirectory of the - bloodlines mainfolder (where the vampire.exe is located), start respatch, and select the -bloodlines folder and the widescreen option you need. Then click "patch it" After that you should have at least a 1200 option available.
This will probably also take care of your first problem.

The problem with the game slowing down when there are a lot of particles to deal with is well known. But I don't know, if it's more extreme with your card. Though I have heard that there are more serious problems with ATI cards than with nvidia ones.

Seconded, I have NVIDIA GeForce 6800 and lag is hardly noticable. Not even the Shade was able to make my machine stutter.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. I've tried what you said and adjusted the res to the it suitable for my lappie screen, it has beacme a little bit better, the texts still got choppy lines on them, but they're at least more legible now.

About the lagging issue, I played the game on a lappie with much lower spec than my current one, but it had a Nvidia vid card, so almost never lagged. So I think it really is just ATI incompetence at work. It's really annoying coz even if I play Bloodlines I can't use Auspex or Presence and shoot in first person or it lags like hell, no need to mention the fight with the Shade I just had in TFN Errgh...I think I'll get myself a decent desktop after this.

Another unrelated question: how do you change you Avatar? Or do you have to be on a level higher than Fledgling to do it?
