This will have double purpose
To my players : it will give you an idea of what can be heard in the radio, pubs and clubs since the 70's up to more or less today. (of course, most of what we hear are stuff in english, thank god american culture can be exported well enough XD)
To all others : you'll share some lols and facepalms. Most of these still do concerts every now and then, for the lols and have some shows on tv chains like VH1 (you know, nostalgic assholes we are all )
Who brought us the disco ? Claude François that is. He died out of randomness, sadly, but now there are reality shows on "who is going to be the next claude françois", and his claudettes (the women ). Kind of like our local Elvis Myth
First, the song that revealed our friend David Carusso :
Some awesome blasphemy :
Okay, in 2000, we all wore joggings, even druids lol. This was the exact direct competitor of Eminem's Slim Shady.
Alizee : remember that sexy night elf dance in WoW ? comes from her :
Let's go a little more underground. But just a little. Indochine is our "Muse" group, with suicides, strong personalities and other randomness. They had most of their success in the 80's, but they did a huge comeback in 2002. So this almost 50 year old still has teen fans
A few other oddities Rita Mitsuko is awesomness of lols (yes, there is the princess of monaco in there!):
Oh, Gainsbourg. You may know him as the guy who told whitney Houston that he wanted to fuck her (here is the proof : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwB0zcx96-A). He had a crappy reputation, making you feel odd because his songs were so.. depraved ? Well here's THE example:
Mylène Farmer : Been on scene as long as Madonna, but with much less interviews ; she plays it mysterious. All her clips are to make you feel unstable and.. sick. Really <_<
On a more technical level, IAM is a marseille group who did a few good rap songs (it's exceptional enough to be noted)
Disiz did also something quite good, in the humor section. If the story sounds/looks familiar, it's normal :
I'll try to find more recent stuff, but frankly...

A few others :
You know Yannick Noah, the tennisman ? the dad of one of the basketball guys somewhere in NY ? He went also musician ("engaged" musician now, went all socialist about stuff). So, hurray for ethno-racism and misconceptions, lol

EDIT: I remember Yannik Noah as a tennis player. But I didn't know that he also tried to be a musician...

Noah is actually quite successful as a musician (many fans didn't know he played tennis xD)

Thanks for your kind understanding

That probably depends on age and nation. In the late 80s in Germany, when both Boris Becker and Steffi Graf were still active, you couldn't turn on your TV or radio without getting something about tennis...
