Should Clubs have new music?

Hi new to the forum, I read in the mod descriptions that the night clubs should have new music but I'm only getting the vanilla music. If I ask the DJ to play something else nothing happens is this normal or some thing not working properly?. I'm using the 1.6 version btw installed over fresh download off steam.
Was also not sure if I had to install 1.2 patch after installing off steam before installing CE 1.6 or if steam version is already patched.

Then you didn't read the description properly: CE allows you to have your own music played (up to 10 songs per location with custom music). If you don't install your own music, vanilla is played.
