Tattoos are not part of the vampire's body, they are just some inks under the skin. Unless vampire bodies can create ink, I doubt they have to be removed repeatedly. Just as much like you wouldn't regenerate a bullet which might have been stuck in your chest while you became a vampire.

You're probably right there. But there is another problem with that bullet. Unless it was stuck in your heart, it will drop down to the pelvis and rattle around there once the organs start atrophying lol!

Tattoos done before the Embrace will stay... in fact, I think trying to have one removed would be futile, unless it's done by a lower Gen. Tzimisce. Tattoos done after the Embrace will disappear/rise to the surface and flake away every night when you arise. This is from the V:tM Storyteller's Companion; don't ask me what page, I'm at work.

Can't regenerate a bullet, that's true. Better have them removed before you go through a metal detector.

Permanent additions like prosthetics though... that raises a tricky question. Dental veneers? Artificial knee joint? Boob job? What happens to these if you are Embraced with them, and then lose them through massive damage? Ex.: You lose the entire leg with the artifical knee joint, and try to regenerate. This is a Storyteller's decision, I think.

As a I recall, yes, it's ST discretion. During the Embrace, providing the sire gives a little more than the mandatory drop of vitae, the body "heals" a few of the problems the childe had during his life. It's not really descriptive. I recall something about minor scars going away, as well as minor perception problems (like, myopia, maybe a small scoliosis would go away, a teen who destroyed many hearing cells will recover part of them). Some ST will inclute beauty spots disappearing as well. I tend to go with "they get frozen in time exactly how they were when they got killed, with the notable exception of the organs shrinking (that includes the skin, which is why kindred tend to be a little leaner, thinner... the embrace, best lifting ever ? XD)

Lost limbs wouldn't regrow after the embrace, but maybe a missing nail...

I'd go with "what's in the genes, except for massive changes".
