| Short version: in the "Living WoD" youtube experiment thingy my Sabbat pack will have an initiation ceremony for a fledgeling. She's been embranced mabye 1 month ago, possibly less.
What I want to know is if we cut of her limbs, can she re-attach them when we're done beating her with them?
Further questions: 1) When we cut of all her limbs, would her health level be Crippled or Incapacitated? 2) Can a vampire simply regrow a missing limb? How many blood points would that cost?

| You can't reattach what has been cut as it becomes "dust/ashes/rotten" once cut off from the Vitae supply (the heart). You can't have a kindred's body part with you, dat shit doesn't work :/. Unless you've got the ritual for it.
1) Incapacitated 2) Yes, shitloads. It'd be 5 blood points per limb, without counting the necessary blood to heal from the incapacitated state. Twist : If you heal the incapacitated before growing the limbs, then the wound is sealed, and you cant regrow something if the wound is sealed. BUT fun thing is that the blood you spend every day while sleeping can count, as the body of a kindred naturally tends to go back to its "natural" state. It's the same reason why hair grows back, tattoo disappear and such over one or several days.
I'll try and get you the canon explanation.

| VtM Storytellers Handbook. pg. 16 (paraphrasing): "A severed limb... not immediately healed (within 1 turn of receiving the wound) takes on characteristics appropriate to the age of it's owner. A neonate's hand merely looks gray and clammy; a 1000-year-old elder's hand crumbles to ash instantly." Also, "when the vampire heals the health level associated with limb removal, the limb is considered regrown." Therefore, if the vampire in question is newly created, their limbs might not turn to dust when amputated. That usually only happens when you've been Kindred a while. So while you might be able to beat a newly-Embraced shovelhead with their own limbs; but unless you can reattach them almost immediately, the limb has to be regrown. They can't just stick it back on after you're done with the beat-down. (Sick idea though, and it fits perfectly with Sabbat.) Not sure where Claudia gets the bit about a wound being 'sealed' if you heal your health levels without re-growing the limb first. I've never seen that in the old VtM rules. That's either from the newer rules (Requiem or V20), or a house rule. The bit about 5 BP per limb sounds like a house rule too, although this is the normal cost associated with healing one level of aggravated damage. But if the ST decides that's true for his campaign, that's the way it is. In my opinion, re-growing a limb should be harder than normal, perhaps requiring 1 Willpower to regrow a limb immediately, or normal healing rules if you wait until the next evening. But requiring 5 BP like aggravated damage seems excessive, unless the limb was bitten off by a werewolf or something. However, any limb that was amputated before your Embrace is gone for good. Your body is stuck forever in the condition it was when you became Kindred. Claudia and I have talked about this before, and I believe we agreed that if you want to Embrace someone who died violently, you'd better feed them enough of your blood (during that first, all-important drink given by the sire) to heal the wounds that killed them, or they will wake up with those wounds every evening, per the 3-pt. flaw, 'Permanent Wound'.. Tattoos from before the Embrace stay, tattoos gained after the Embrace fade, as Claudia mentioned. Possibly the same for fake hair color, at the ST's discretion. Basically, if it's your game, it's your rules. Just be consistent. | |

| It's not just our game, there's about a 100 other players involved, which is why I want to go as much by the book as possible. Aww, it's a pitty we can't re-attach her limbs so easily. I was already affraid that the other guy could do it with his fingers only because he was a Blood Brother. What if we only cut of half her limbs (either both arms or both legs), would that count as Crippled or even just Mauled? She should be able to spend 10 points on healing if we have a few humans at hand for her to feed on. Would it matter which limbs we cut of? Because if it's all the same as far as the rules go I'd prefer to do it with the legs. They're bigger. | |

| We're getting into territory that should be decided by the Storyteller. But I'd say that if you cut off all the limbs on her left side, she should still be 'all right'.
LOL . Line stolen from 'Arrested Development', a TV show I don't even watch.

| Oh, hello, Tremere ANTITRIBU! Unless one of you guys have Vicissitude (I think), you're down to what PGM said. What's this about aggravated wounds? Dunno about bloodpoints, but I thought you need a days rest -no action- to heal that. | |

| In the game I'm a Nosferatu antitribu, not Tremere. And over here I'm still strictly indepednant. But the Sabbat is turning out to be a lot of fun. And I like the "all right" joke. | |

Both. A day of rest, plus 5 BP per health level to heal aggravated wounds. But limb loss isn't automatically aggravated damage; it could be caused by lethal damage. (I suppose bashing damage is possible, but unlikely-- most bashing is caused by bullets, fists, and clubs, which don't usually sever limbs.) Claudia mentioned requiring 5 BP to regrow a limb, which is treating it like aggravated damage. I don't recall seeing that in the VtM rulebooks. However, my suggestion of making it cost 1 Willpower or a day of rest is not canon either; that's why I underlined the word 'opinion'. I can see the logic behind making it harder to regrow a limb; I just think 5 BP is excessive. (Unless the limb loss was caused by 5 health levels of lethal damage, which is quite possible.)

| The wimps thought it was too extreme. Instead we just broke her arms and legs and threw her into the river. And before that we tricked her into killing a human, which reduced her humanity from 6 to 5. At least the vaulderie went well. | |

At least the vaulderie went well. You want to play Path of Enlightenment in a campaign or was the killing just for fun?

| We're Sabbat, we can't have vampires running around with Humanity 6. It's just plain disgraceful.
