Since theres no general Ask team Cammi I'll ask here... Why not go all the way? What i mean is, I think you guys should attempt a kickstarter to basically make an official game using everything you know from moding the hell and back out of VTMB. Possibly getting ex-trokia members, also hiring artist and writers depending on how much you get/ask for. I am just floating this idea out there, especially since its been so successful for stuff like Wasteland 2, Torment and Mighty No. 9 which are basically the next game/reboot in a franchise they dont have/can't get the copyright to.
I'm not saying do it, but planting an idea that I'll guarantee 100 dollars from my pocket to see done.
Good evening.

If only it was that easy. If only I wasn't lazy enough to leave it at that.

I know logistics are way beyond what I am actually typing or have typed. But with the level of love and dedication not only team Camarillo but the mod community as a whole has done, I believe it's possible especially with the money behind it. Writers and especially those who can write around not having the WoD copyright would be one of the harder parts.

I've been pushing for it but basically, we'd get sued by CCP, Onyx Path and Activision

if you keep the WoD names and or use the assets from VTMB. YES.
I'm talking about that mighty no. 9 kind of similar but different to the point they can't sue. which is where you'll need to hire an art and writing team to work with to avoid. Instead of the LA area make it the SF bay area, instead of the Camarillia find a similarly powerful name( leave it up to the community that kick starts the game after sorting through several names the team is divided on) , same with the clans and tjeir powers. the whole point is basically making the stuff the team made in the mods into its own thing with possible a completely new story line. It in a way is buliding off the same skeletal frame of VTMB(a vampire society living amongst the human society and they all feel a sense of impending doom from a mystical object brought into the area and you, a new vampire to this, have to find out what's going on. The third person first person mix, vampire powers used for everything from seduction & distraction to blood magic & shape-shifting , the quest system that only rewards after you complete it). If you need help ask the community or individual professionals who've worked in the WoD universe or similar regarding it's writing, voice acting and programming , see their prices if they're willing to help. It is a large undertaking and very complex, however the "X will sue" is not the issue if you look at it with your imagination.
Hell during this I've already thought of a neat variation on Teresa and Jeanette.

Without the IP, the game is worthless. We've tried : https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1868686619/sanguine-nights-darkest-blood
And it has happened :
Which HAS a Therese/Jeanette Ripoff (and like you, they "renamed" Therese into T(h)eresa)

Okay you severely overlooking are several factors with the first project that made it fall 1.those guys and what they're trying was.. Very ambitious and in ways not very vtm at all besides being about a world of many vampire types. 2. They were focused on making and selling a universe /making franchise as well as a multi-player focused game, not just making one singular game (like I'm proposing) 3. They were severely unfocused due to #2. 4. They weren't team Cammi, who has examples of previous successful projects to show off, they were just fans who had a solid idea but no foundation. (the they admit in their last comment)
As for your example of Dark, that game was never intended to be Bloodlines successor. it may be heavily inspired and ripped whole sell elements from bloodlines but i saw it as more of something akin to the vampire version of MGS due to its heavy emphasis on stealth. Also like previous statement about sanguine nights, they had no experience on the kind of game they tried making with dark, which is why it came out as the buggy, badly programmed mess that got panned. Just to give you an idea of how badly programmed they outright admit in their tips : some enemes dont move ar all, just stand looking in one direction.
Im proposing something different from both examples in that: A. Like mighty no. 9 it will rely more on the fact people want a new game likebloodlines, that is made by people who know bloodlines and have had experience extensively modding bloodlines. B. By having people who know or love vtm(the devs of dark clearly didn't) and especially the bloodlines game, write the story and characters that are basically fulfilling the role of those characters from bloodlines, we can strike the element of uncanny familiarity of "we've been here before" and also allows for the writers to throw curve balls (the twins stand in actually revealed to be legit twins, LaCroix's stand in not actually being a douche toward you if you say no or someone who had nothing to do with the ecents in the original playing a key role ) that spice things up without losing the fact its a love letter to fans who liked bloodlines and what the team has done with it. C. The team has already built up basically half a game in terms of some of the changes the made, so why not experiment in making the other half.
