Basically the State Police department went into strike so chaos ensued.
Since here in Brazil it's extremely difficult to get a gun in a legal way, most decent folk are like sitting ducks against these thugs.

A lot of "decent folk" also seized the opportunity to raid stores and supermarkets.

When law abiding citizens can't get guns to protect themselves, are punished when they react and hurt their agressors, and the Police is nowhere to be seen, these things will happen.

Hey, we made nudity (almost even cleavage) taboo, so we had to fixate on something OTHER than human sexual features. Since we glorified violence so much, is it any surprise our lost sexual interest found a toehold in firearms and ammunition? It seems a similar thing happened in Germany when they tried to control sexuality. Have you seen some of their rail-mounted guns?

Armed citizens can be fine, but a lot depends on the citizens themselves. The Swiss for example have plenty of guns (though still no nearly s many as Murricans), but they're not crazy so they're doing okay. They also have mandatory conscription so every man get basic military training and is presumably educated about gun safety. And after the end of the service they get to keep their service rifle, but have to acquire a gun permit. As a result the Swiss have a population that is both heavily armed and disciplined in the use of guns.

Similarily in Israel.

BTW, do you know how Israel has 0 school schootings a year, despite having Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Al Queda, Fatah etc on the premises?
