I've grown curious to see where the people around here actually stand in the political spectrum, more as a fun fact than anything else. If at all possible, I'd like to keep debates off this topic because well, they grow toxic as fuck and don't really do much I feel. Plus we have that other topic which is nothing but debates at the moment, if of a religious kind than a political one. Anywhoodle, here's the test:

So Hilary has more in common with the republicans than with the other democrat running against her. Can't say I'm surprised, but it's nice to have it so clearly spelled out.

According to this anyway, but yeah I can't say I'm surprised; she's corrupt as fuck and does terribly with trying to hide it. This election alone she's taken millions in speaking fees, money from Goldman Sachs and refuses to release her transcripts because "the republicans need to do it too!"
Only we already know they're doing it and she claims to be better than that by standing on the Democratic side and being tougher on Wall Street than Bernie Sanders is. So much so that even if we give her claims the benefit of the doubt and say she did go there before the crash and tell them they're fucking up; she still failed at keeping them from crashing the U.S. economy and bringing about the Great Recession. BUUUUT she has a pussy and if you don't vote for her then you're sexist, so do it now or be marked forever in shame that you valued incidental genitals over judgement, substance and trustworthiness.

As far as Sweden goes, for my earlier defense back somewhere in the topic; it's not to say we definitely don't have problems with immigration being one of the aspects (our economy is starting to show signs of buckling, our politicians are garbage and the PC shit is too far into the ground that it might as well give the gatekeeper of hell a fellatio while it's at it, nevermind how our system is set up).
We're still not Africa (yet) and it's not anarchy on the streets where Muslims rule everything, in other words a lot of the internet hate is exaggerated; but Sweden is moving down in the world and our political system is doing us no benefits, ignoring for a second how our current government is ran by- among other things -third-wave feminists. Politically speaking, Sweden is a nightmare. Average-day speaking, we're still managing without being converted to Islam or taking it up the ass in the name of Political Correctness. So far.

Now that I can post again after technical fuckeries:
I doubt we'll go as far as the middle east to be honest, especially when you consider that the nationalists are garnering more and more support as people get more and more frustrated with the retarded government that keeps dragging more people here when we already have a lack of jobs and housing; hence why the Sweden Democrats are on the rise here.

Sufficed to say though, if we did say current trends continued and went on and on, the thing that'd happen is overpopulation and our economy failing because we try to support too many people at once with a fair share of leeches trying to drain it too which only cracks it all the more. Multiculturalism doesn't work if you separate the people into various "corners" saying 'those are your guys, these are mine now we can live together in our separate bubbles'; and I reckon that unless we address it more and begin assimilating the ones we bring in, we'll see more Rosengård's rising around. Know what the worst part is? The people who come here not to settle and make a living but to leech off the system and/or recruit for terror groups (which happens a lot apparently) make the ones who flee here to get away from the middle east get looked at funny too by those who donno nuance and in worst case get targeted by the sort of people they fled from.

I don't think there is a magical answer to our problems currently, but it's pretty agreed upon here- correctly or otherwise -that rampant immigration is our biggest problem at the moment, and the only ones who wanna do something about it are the Sweden Democrats, who get a lot of shit from our media which could be more objective to say the least.
I also think we have a problem with our political system in that we vote for parties; so whoever's in power must oblige to their party. Also, if you agree with 60% of one party's policies but don't like the other 40% or what have you, tough luck. When you vote, you vote for the full package whether you want to or not; which makes pretty much any party a dry pill to swallow. For example, a part of me wants to vote the Sweden Dems so we can finally get somewhere on our shitty immigration policy; but if I do I will also vote to reinstitute conscription, bring more power to the Christian Church (because fuck secularism amirite) and probably not do our outdated drug policies any favor either given how far-right SD is. Is one issue worth at least three others? At this point, I dread to say 'maybe'.

USA tried to make a political system without parties, but parties emerged anyway in just a few years.

I've lately started to lean towards the opinion that the only way government can ever work well in the long run is if we let a sufficiently advanced benevolent AI run it. We don't have those yet though, and it might be that while trying to create one we fuck up and create Skynet instead. So we might want to be a little cautious about the whole thing.

I think we should roll back to Absolute Monarchy. The type "by Divine Grace". Elected officials will only look to fill their pocets and provide good start for their kids. Fuck all the rest. A monarch is bound to do the same. But as an unelected, hereditary civil servant and de facto owner of the state, he could do so only by making the state strong, rich and competitive. Or fail and fuck up his children's future.

Look at Sweden under the Vase or Palatinate-Zweibrücken; an empire led by strong leaders. Despite virtual lack of manpower and almost no tax revenue initially. Compere to now...
