FanFic

Fan Fiction, is there any place to publish it, a place meant for it, recomended above all others for it?
i started writing a short story inspired by this game, which can be seen as fan fiction, and one of the places where i would seek publication for it would be a forum or some such where fanfiction of the game is published...

i was thinking of something more within the game's virtual universe, something more to do with vampires and specificaly the game.

plus, to my awareness Deviant Art is more for visual art, and mine is indeed a written, text, short story.

Try have you tried www.fanfiction.com It has arrange of games etc. Where you can post fanfiction, one of my fav sites too.

DA has a lot of written art.

Most people I know personally who use it tend to end up using it as a repository for poetry and stories more than visual art.

Most fan sites for VtM are based on the actual pnp game and not really bloodlines, there was a fancomic somewhere but I lost where it was. Think it was DA actually, may have to search for it again.

DA has many many fanfics, and I saw at least three about bloodlines specificly.

Remember, Bloodlines is a 7 y-o game whose community is mostly dead, except for modders and patchers who had a huge regain of interest since the game became very cheap on steam.
(the big hard fans who stayed fans at the same level since 2003 up to today and did not even notice the steam thingy are counted by the fingers of one hand, and my guess is burgermeister is one of them ; i got re-interested when I noticed people were still working on the game after 2006, then I saw CE and CQM but that was after this steam thingy)

I can't help you with publishing, but I know this site gets plenty of hits daily so we could setup a Fan Fiction section just for you and any other writers. I could even go as far as setting up a mirror on the TFN website to help further your fame.

PlanetVampire would also be a good place to publish it, I know Signothorn would be open to allowing you a place similiar to what we can do for you here.

Anyway, this "the Dark Room" part of the forum may be used for this, neh ? I've poster the comic over there and talked about an anime about vampires too.. maybe.. but I don't care that much, i'm not even concerned.

I like the fact Malks are supposed to have Dominate, but their Sabbat counterparts played a trick on the whole clan

Actually White Wolf explained it as "Some Malkavians were tied up to be more manipulable when they entered the Camarilla (they were put in front of the door by one of their elders, with a ribon and everything, don't ask XD), then said elder decided to un-tie them and release their full potential for the final nights".

For the real explaination, Dementation did not even exist in 2nd edition, then they invented it for malkavian antitribu (old sabbat guide), and for 3rd edition (or revised edition) they invented a backround to give it to "cammy malkies". you know, big tower with patches all around, not built very well, changing authors and stuff...
(you wouldn't guess the reason there are no Tremere in Vampire the Requiem )

I tend to stick to revised edition backstory for coherencys' sake. When you start mixing up version sources you can get all sorts of weird outcomes, had a friend who bought changeling books without checking editions and it nearly drove him crazy, lol.

more specificaly case in point
if i can find in fanfiction a place pandering to this game, or even to the pnp game vampire or even only to the world of darkness universe it might be a good home for my story.

i have on occasion done that, written fanfic poetry
case in point this current story,
anyway it is not strictly Bloodlines the computer game, it isn't even only Masquerade the pnp game, it ended up mixing Masquerade with Requiem and even a dash of Dark Ages, it blends everything in the World of Darkness universe that has to do with vampires
and what is more it is sprinkled with Neil Gaiman, do you know his work? the comics Sandman, the novel American Gods?

that is why i first considered this place as the place to publish my fanfiction
though, as above mentioned, it is not strictly a fanfiction to thise here game, it grew beyond it, it was still inspired by it, it was playing this game that stirred my creative juices flowing, that set the whole thing off, even if in the end it outgrew it.
but getting back on point, i did a bit of checking in the whole world of darkness vampire presence at it appeared mostly dead indeed, while in this place the game still appears alive and kicking.

claudia's suggestion of this forum's Dark Room seems a nice enough place to start.
only if it gets mounting approval there could other mounting measures be considered.
just a thought.
