What you don't see is the open heart surgery scar along the inner cusp of my left shoulder blade and the scissored gait I possess as a result of being placed in an incubator. It was said that I was given either too little, or too much oxygen. The result being mild cerebral palsy. (I don't know which type.) I was born prematurely. I was given my baptism and last rights at birth. I didn't have a godparent until I was sixteen. I love seeing him in passing because it embarrasses the hell out of him when I say, "godfather" with a purposefully reverent tone like he was Don Corleone. It's the only open heart surgery I've ever had. The only other scars I have are along my Achiles tendons. They were the result of a lengthening surgery I had as a child which was intended to increase my range of motion. The anesthesiologist didn't think it prudent to give me anesthesia intravenously. Instead, it was some god awful gas which I didn't inhale, but for a lack of physical response he assumed the gas had done its job. I remember thinking, "Oooooh. Butterknife. Cold." before I underwent my own passion of sorts. I sure wish I would've suck on the gas. My measure of a man is neither in his weath, nor is it in his status, but in his capacity for love. Who am I? You already know. An aside: Okay now, although I am blessed with such a pretty mouth and I seem quite duplicitous, I am straight. Sorry boys.
