| Hey Z, Sorry to ask this, but since I've been out of the loop for a bit, and Wesp's 6.5 basic patch is included with 1.1, is there and option of something during installation for higher resolutions? It's probably a lame question, since most know about this, but I am wanting to make sure I do stuff correctly when I install VTMB and 1.1 on Friday. I'm just unsure since I see a "resolution patch" listed at Fileplanet here... http://www.fileplanet.com/100454/0/0/0/1/section/Patches. Is this something I need to utilize, or will just installing VTMB and 1.1 do it for me ( I'm running 1680 x 1050 ). Thanks guys, please take pity on an old player coming back and feeling quite ignorant on a bunch of things Respect, Max EDIT: Disregard my question, I found the answer in the ideas section DOH

| Hey Max, No problem buddy, it's a good question. Bundled with both UP 6.5 and CE 1.1 is a \Tools\ directory. Inside this folder is a resolution patcher that allows you to set the game to whatever resolution size you want. I suggest running this program and changing the default resolution from 4:3 to 16:10 (or 16:9 depending). When you enter the game again those resolution sizes will be available for you to choose. The name of the file is ResPatcher.exe, just run that and you should be good to go! Hope that helps! -Z | |

| Eventhough since I've reinstalled the game and CE 1.1, the 1680*1050 resolution looks kinda weird. Every character is thinner then with the "old" 1680*1050 setting. I'll test now if the other 16:10 resolutions give a better feeling.
Anyone had the same feeling or is it just me? :-)

| I tried playing 1680x1050 on my widescreen and the menus looked fantastic but my character and everything else still looked stretched, so I put my old 4:3 CRT monitor back and have been playing on 1280 x 1024 (4:3). | |

Anyone had the same feeling or is it just me? :-) Hi y'all! First of, loving the mod! Must've played the game a dozen times and only now found your mod! I think I've got the solution to your problem. I used to use the same .exe file with the original game, but for some reason you don't seam to have the same readme -file as i had. wel it states the following, after it told you to use the patcher exe: - Quote :
(6) Now, open up the file named "config.cfg" which is located within your VTMB\Vampire\cfg folder, using Notepad.
(7) Search for the line which says "r_anamorphic" and change its value from "0" to "1" if it needs to be changed.
(8 ) We're not done yet. You have just enabled widescreen resolutions, but the engine still does not default to displaying the game as such. In order to force Bloodlines into displaying itself in gorgeous widescreen format and at high resolution, we need to make a small change to the desktop shortcut which launches the game...
Locate the shortcut (icon) for VTMB on your desktop. Right-click on that shortcut and select "Properties" from the pop-up menu. A small window will open up. Now, look for the "Target" box in that window. See it..? That's the actual command line which launches Bloodlines. We need to add a couple of switches to the end of that command line, so that the Source engine knows to load Bloodlines in a non-standard resolution and format.
The game's own video menu will not reflect these new changes, because it was never designed that way. So be it. Simply do not try to set your in-game resolution using that video menu anymore, because it will no longer have any effect now that the engine has been altered. We need to FORCE the new resolutions now, using another method.
So... just add the following switches to the very end of that command line in the "Target" box:
-w XXXX -h YYYY
...where "XXXX" is your desktop width and "YYYY" is your desktop height (in pixels).
EXAMPLE:
-w 1920 -h 1080 Not sure if you have to use the prefixes (i do), but changing the r_anamorphic value to 'true' will most likely fix your problem. Hope this helps And thanks a gain for a great mod! Cheers from snowy Finland! -sHElob-
