TFN's NEW Regent

Last night was extremely productive. I was going over Strauss's dialogue file cleaning it up for the new clans when I had a fantastic idea! First off, the Bloodstar occult item given to the character by Strauss for completing the Plague Victim quest has been changed to a brand new occult item that I made last night. He now gives you the "Necklace of Saulot" which increases your natural regeneration time by 25%. Since TFN doesn't have Thaumaturgy I simply used the Daimonori (or whatever it was called) and replaced it.

Then, I got the "Give me the cash baby!" dialogue line moved over to the new Haggle System which now does a Haggle check to see how much money you get. All 10 Haggle levels are used and given different amounts of money, up to $500 if you have a Haggle 10.

Now here's the cream of the crop. In preparation of the new Good vs. Evil System I plan on implementing I made a new subsection in the text where you can now (if evil or neutral) can blackmail Strauss to give you money (again checked by Haggle) to keep quiet about the fact that the Hollywood Gargoyle is his creation. To make this work I had to do some sound editing with his existing sound files, cutting and pasting new lines together for extra dialogue. I must say that it turned out 100% professional, when you hear these new lines your going to say "Is this new content we've never seen before?", it's perfect. Now Strauss threatens to cut off your head and makes you leave the chantry destroying any future attempt at friendship later on, however the amount of money you can get (if your Haggle is high) and the extra 2 experience points is worth it. Of course he won't give you the gargoyle occult item so fighting the gargoyle will be alot tougher, again you gotta weigh the cost/benefits of going this route, but hey! I like the extra 2 XP points and the money.

Wow, it seems there will be more new content than I had imagined. Good work! TFN will be very complex, with many different systems deciding the outcome of your dialogue choices, it seems. Most lovely, I say!

well i guess i have to repeat myself again.. awesome! work i want to play TFN now! I want to test every f**king new content...

Thanks guys! Last night I spent several hours modifying the Tremere-Firemage battle in the Bradbury Hotel, it's WAAAY more fun now! Ahh exciting times!

I have to ask, what about Tremere-Assamite relation? We know who cursed Assamites... So, I don't know, Akeem asking about dirt on Strauss?

Well Akeem is a 500 year old Assamite Vizier who spends his time researching old books and looking for lost artifacts. In many ways he is alot like Beckett except that he is from the Middle East. Without giving away too many spoilers, let's just say that Akeem is new to LA who just arrived for a certain purpose, and it has nothing to do with Strauss or Tremere at all. Akeem knows he's in Camarilla territory and that Tremere are aligned with them, but that isn't deterring him from completing his LA based quest.

This however does not mean that we can't write something into the game that deals with Strauss, that is a very possible and doable idea, but for now, nothing has been written for him to involve himself with Strauss.

As an Assa lover and Tremere hater, I will try to come up with something. (Doesn't mean I will. )
