Well I new to Vampire bloodlines, and I've got a really knowledable friend who knows all about the world of darkness lore. So I gave this game a go
Normally not much of a vampire fan (usally a fan of the light over darkness) However, I've fallen complete in love with the Malkavians. Its just simply my type of vampire. Exactly the vampire I was looking to play. Crazy, unpredicable and come with an interesting accent of insaness. My friend also tells me, as they appear like they are wierd, most can be prophet like. Which I guess I assume, rather than talking in riddles, its taking in crazyness. Hence the word "insight" is mentioned.
Anyway, I really want to give this MOD a go, however reading apon the changes, it appears to me the Malkavians have been nerf for the strengths I like about them ? They seem to excel with devistating mental attacks on humans and a few of the small fry supernatuals, yet kinda really stuggled when fighting regular supernateral or higher (demintration doesnt work on them, they detect your invisibility at close range). Which was fine with me. Its just mod, all the skills have been removed and new ones added, which take away the strength of style I liked.
I not merly asking an explation why these hughe chanes were made, but mainly did you guys think they were too overpowerd with mental attacks on humans? To what reasons did they need to be changed. Just from reading the changes, It just comes accross to me as a nerf of my enjoyment with the clan. I hopeing maybe you guys can provide more information that will increase my willpower to play this mod, maybe increase my knowledge stats a little ? ^_^
Oh and did I make the mistake of choosing the Malkavian as my first vampire clan, because I dont really want to play anything else now <.<

Hey Marl, welcome to TCI, glad to have you.
I'm the one you want to be speaking too as I designed all of the new Dementation powers you don't like, lol. I read your post but I'm a bit confused. You mentioned a couple times that I nerfed the Malks? How so? Yes Dementation works on humans no problem, but they also stunt other supernaturals like bosses, other vampires, etc... just as much if not more so than the other mental based powers. In my opinion, after releasing the new Dementation in CE 1.2 I was a little concerned that I made Malks a little TOO powerful vs. Supernaturals.
Just how far have you gotten into Dementation with CE 1.2 or higher? Play with Dementation 3, 4, and 5 with CE and play all the way through and you'll see that Dementations effectivness vs. Supernaturals is actually pretty superior.
Edit: I just re-read your post and it doesn't look like you've even played a Malk with CE installed. If you liked Malks in the vanilla game then you'll LOVE them in CE!! Their new powers are WAAAY cooler then the vanilla and a bit more powerful vs. Supernaturals (and humans alike) that I think you'll be happy you played it and will have a hard time going back to the boring vanilla version. (Just my opinion of course).
PS: Welcome back Jimmy, I can feel your psychotic aura from here and boy is a welcomed warmth I missed so much! You need to meet z.o.o. by the way, he's as insane as you are!

Ah, thank you for replying.
Well, I tryed to mean that it looks like they were being nerf, but I havent actually tried the gameplay. Pretty much from what I was reading on your site. Was wondering if you were doing a balance issue or something. However it looks like I am going to have to give it a go. I think I am going to miss Death vision tho, I mean I really liked the animation of little black leeches sucking around the head until they died. But sorry if I made it sound like I was dissing your work. More os less was hoping to see opinions that may presuade me ^_^
The very slow regen concerns me a little tho, I mean it was hard enough waiting for aggrivated damage to repair in the vanillia. now its going to be all game round ? :p . Eating people during combat (what I like to do as a vampire) is going to be a ltitle tougher I guess ?
just on the side, I been trying to look for a malkavian with a japanese schoolgirl uniform skin. Vampire + Japanese schoolgirl uniform = win!. Anyway if yous guys know of one, let me know ^_^ Cant see why its not possible since she comes with a skirt already.
Doesnt seem there is a lot of skins out there O_O

Zer0Morph took away the automatic regeneration, and the quick heal during feeding, and added the new discipline 'Blood Heal'. It's not as fast as the quick heal, but it's a lot faster than the automatic regeneration was. At level three Blood Heal or above, you can spend just a little blood and you're constantly regenerating during combat. Plus, it makes the game more in line with the PnP Vampire: The Masquerade rules -- in VtM, vampires don't heal unless they actually spend blood.
I always thought the instant quick heal during feeding was too easy, anyway. Drain one ghoul, and you were fully healed. This way is a little more challenging, and also more realistic.
(Edit) If you can use the term 'realistic' when talking about vampires.
