| A+, which is very commun here in France (Europe, I'd guess). I found out during my operation for the apendicitis (since then -I was 9- no needle had touched me) | |

No, I knew I was a + as my mother is AB- and because of me needed a special injection to stop her body rejecting any other children born of a + type. As a - type attacks the + after the first for some reason...

You could be B- as well. Me, I'm A- and proud of it. What? You gotta be proud of something

As a - type attacks the + after the first for some reason... So you are indeed +. Reason of serologicsl conflict is that a body with - blood group recognises + antibody as non-human, as it doesn't contain and never had any contact with it. Infection of sorts. Human immunological system is so great it could mistake a child with bacteria. Just a minor glitch in human species Seriously, you could google it with ease.

Yay i'm not alone Me, too. In Germany, it's forbidden to test the blood type of children in Biology classes (while they learn about blood), which is - of course - a big bunch of ... er ... I mean ... it doesn't make any sense. At all. So I'll have to make a test at the doctor's for about 30 € which is totally ... er ... senseless, too. (Well, a friend of mine said you could let your blood be tested at the Red Cross, but I don't like it if my blood's taken by needle. I don't mind needles, I just hate this feeling. I'm allergic so I had it done once, a few years ago. Dude, please not again. )

| Well usually we find out either when we're babies (between vaccinations) or before an operation if the parents lost the family book | |

Will check it out if they have my type there.

Nah, as my teacher explained it's about the possibility that the blood type of a child doesn't fit the parents', and apparently this has already happened more than once. I'm sure you can think of what it means for one of the 'parents' if it's impossible their child has, say, O + and they find out it has? Oopsie, the poor fifth-class-pupil is now in the middle of a crashed marriage. Honestly? I don't believe this story. This is completely ... senseless. But there's nothing to do about it, I guess.
