| I have to say good job on the skins. Though i like the vanilla Brujah model better, just personal preference, how do i change it back? I also would like to bring back the red Hollywood Tremere female armor, makes me feel more like Strauss.
Thank you

| Hi, first of all: welcome to the forum If you want to go back to vanilla skins, all you have to do is delete the new ones. Then the game will load the originals from the archives. You can find them in the subdirectory \vampire\materials\models\character\pc\ and after that it's divided in male/female, the clans and the different armors. So, for example the female Hollywood Tremere would be ...\pc\female\tremere\armor2. Delete the armor2 subdirectory and all its content (or just rename it, then you can switch back if you change your mind) and you're back to vanilla. If you want to get rid of the whole set, you can delete/rename the whole clan subdirectory. - | |

| No problem. The path is \vampire\materials\hud\inventory_images\armor\ and then the subdirectories for clans and gender. Be careful when you remove the files. I'm not sure right now why there are so many files. So better make a backup directory and move the files there instead of deleting. You can create the backup directory in the armor folder. - | |

| I've recently installed this mod, and while most of it is excellent, I can't help laughing at the silly-slutty new Heather in VV's model (not to mention the cognitive dissonance in talking with them both). However, when I delete the Heather directory (materials\models\character\npc\unique\santa_monica\heather), it appears that the normal skins are loading but still using the VV model, which confuses the engine and looks even more weird.
So...is there a way to restore Heather's original model as well as skin?

| Hi dimwitf, first of all, welcome to the wonderful world of the bloodsuckers For your question: If you get another Heather model, you don't have installed CE only. CE has not changed the Heather model, and certainly would never use the same model for two major npcs. But I think I know which model you're talking about. It's the one that comes with the optional skin pack from clan quest. O.K. your problem is, you got rid of the skin you don't like, and now you have the real skin not fitting the changed model. What you have to do is, you open the models directory as well. Should be about the same path as for the skin. -bloodlines\vampire\models\character\npc\unique\santa_monica\heather\ Delete this heather directory as well, and the original model will be restored from the archives. - | |

| Another good explanation by Childe, because no we never changed Heather's model and we certainly wouldn't duplicate VV's skin to be Heathers... | |

| Ah, that was it. For some reason, I'd mentally decided that the materials\ path was just for mods, and the models\ path was for the vanilla data. Not sure why...? Thanks for the clarity as well - I installed this mod as well as the CQM, at the same time. Sorry about confusing the effects. Both mods give great results and really breathe new life (har har) into the game - glad I ran across a thread discussing modding on SomethingAwful. | |

| Glad I could help Well, it can be a bit confusing if you're new to bloodlines mods. So no problem there. Have fun, duckling - | |

| Of course this won't work. That path does not exist. The path you want is this: "models/character/npc/unique/Santa_Monica/Heather/Heather.mdl" - | |

That was interesting but I was hoping we could see the game load with the new vampire skin.

| That video basically got it right. But you don't have to edit the mp_clanname enty. Just player_clanname is enough. And I wouldn't simply overwrite the line. I'd copy the line, comment one of them out, using //, and then edit the other one. Then you don't have to make a backup file, so you can do changes like this for any clan, and easily switch back to the original for anyone you like, without risk of messing up things through various different backup files. - | |

| I hope it's all right that I ask this here.
I've finally been fiddling with the VPKTool, trying to snoop around the game's textures and such, and seem to have hit a snag. I've only been able to locate a handful of viewable/extractable files--seemingly, the materials folder only contains files specifically related to CE. Does the Steam version of Bloodlines (which is what I have) not make the files for textures and stuff accessible the way the original version of the game (presumably) did?
I'm not sure about that though, since some other file types (eg. music, sound effects) seem pretty well-represented in their own respective folders; why would some kinds of files be hidden completely and others easily accessible? Could someone confirm or deny whether this is the case? Are the vanilla textures really not accessible, or did I just fail my Inspection feat yet again?

| Only textures that are changed by the patch or a mod are available. the rest is still packed in the archives. That goes for every version of the game, not only for Steam. VPK tools has a simple archive extractor, but there are some others around as well. | |

| Okay, that makes sense... I'm guessing the archives are in these conspicuously large VPK's then. Inspection, you fail me yet again. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! | |

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! That's right. You can search the archives and unpack only what you need. Or if you want to unpack all of it, you must unpack the files in numerical order, 000 first.

| I can't die, dude. You know this! LOL After looking at the new art with Project Vaulderie, and the new Unity engine resolutions, it makes me feel like everything I did with TFN was irrelevant. Unfortunately (or fortunately if I'm being selfish), the project was shut down. I remember the love and time I put into TFN (and CE) and seeing them work on that project reminded me of that today. I have... thoughts... stirring inside my mind right now. I'm feeling... inspired again. | |
