I need some suggestions for alternate haven posters

As you know, in the game, several of the vanilla posters look nothing like their intended subjects. That, or the posters simply aren't featuring characters some people like. I figure I can put in time to do something about it.

It's going to be a long-term project, that'll offer several different posters of the game's characters that you can pick and choose to switch out with the game's original haven posters. I'm working with GIMP, not photoshop, so don't expect to see it soon, I've only just started.

I was wondering if I could get some suggestions for alternate posters, as in what characters you'd like to see? :D

So far, this is all I've started. A poster for Beckett. I'll be working to make it more detailed, and include more of the body, but so far this is his head and some of his shoulders that'll be painted in with more shadow. Don't mind the green background, I just needed it there to make contrast so the jpg's exporting process wouldn't freak out.

Other things to discuss:
-Should I try to paint it as realistically as possible, or make a more heavily inked, comic-style to the posters?
-Should I attempt photographic backgrounds, or solid colors?
-Any other ideas that you wish could be done with the posters.

There was actually a really great Pisha poster I saw someone made with an 'alternate' mature-rated posters set. Granted she's nude and absolutely covered in blood, but it was really well done. Should I fix some color differences and just include it with credits?

There was also a great Jeanette poster he did, but for some reason, the face he chose, she's staring creepily into the distance. Also there were some incongruities in shadow coloring, so I fixed that for my own posters edit. XD

Should I draw them to show off physiques, like the vanilla haven posters do to the original characters? I can't do anything terribly x-rated, but you know, pin-up styles are not out of the question. o:

As for Beckett's completed poster, if we do go the way of saucy pin-ups, I was thinking of leaving him completely clothed, featured with a wry smile, and completed with an autograph that reads "You know, you'll never catch me dressing. -Beckett"

I think the Pisha one doesn't have to be ..uh that explicit, I mean like Beckett one, just show her upper body so I can see her eyes plainly

I'm all in for a poster change. For my personal games I usually also use a mix of the ones offered in the various downloadds.
But if you use different people, you also have to change Garys emails. That in itself is no big deal, but then you can't offer it as an addon. Or you have to add the new haven pc file for every patch/mod involved.

A pinup of Jack is a great idea. And you don't even have to do something to hide his, hm him being a pirat I should say cutlass. The beard will do the trick

P.S. Claudia, what do you mean by rule 34? The only numbered set of rules I know about are the Ferengi rules of aquisition. Then it would either be "War is good for business" or "Peace is good for business." I just can't remember which one of them is 34, and which 35.

Well, any of the original White Wolf Arts could be used to LaCroix, he did probably have his portrait made by a 1850's painter
(like the one I used for CE loading screen).

That I can do. I can make one upload to replace posters in mods that don't feature Gary's poster quests, and one for CE. I'll just have to provide code and corresponding file names for each image. All in all, it'll be like, 6 different file names for each poster. Then people can mix and match to suit their tastes. I'll definitely include instructions, to make it easy. That way, as long as a person can pick 6 or so, and make sure that each file name isn't the same per poster, they can have their customized haven posters! :D

But even if G-rated posters vote out all else, pin-up styled posters will eventually follow regardless. I'm just trying to gauge which the forum would want to see, first. c:

It's dark right now because I needed the shadow to correspond to his skin tone. It'll be lightened up. The process goes in such a way that I paint from black up to their lightened skin tone, to give them depth and definition. :)

Haha, I can't say that one belongs to me. That particular photo comes from a poster mod that replaces the existing haven posters with more "extreme" photos, as in, "everyone is totally nude." xD
But still, that one isn't the weirdest of the bunch. The "Ming Xiao" that was made looks like she belongs in some elfish Matrix movie.

That style can be replicated. I will consider it. Of course, we could always do a high-fashion black and white bust, as a professional of his magnitude would find tasteful. We should discuss this further. C:
