| Due to the design and mechanics of the MMO that CCP are producing the executive decision has been made. The MMO by White Wolf/CCP aimed for release in 2012 will indeed be based on Old World of Darkness after considering on their original plan and their decision to cut the Mage line for New World short. Old World is more based for the intrigue and styled action planned than New World (Which also may be flopping financially, but I don't think that's in the official statement) | |

| This isn't a joke, is it? That would be very, very cruel. Damn, if that's true ... I'm ... damn ... well I'll be damned, that would ROCK! | |

| Am trying to find the actual text myself currently.
You know when you get those teenage girls that squeak and squeal for half an hour incoherently and then they have to repeat what they said in a normal tone?
I had that earlier today on my phone from a fanboy. My poor ears.
From what I gather it was confirmed by CCP earlier today and was circulated round the EVE newsmill and been confirmed over twitter by CCP and White Wolf. Someone more used to the alarming contraption may have better luck at unearthing the White Wolf confirmation than me.

Goddammit, that means I'll have to do a lot of holiday jobs for a new PC AND my driver's license, but hell, it'll be worth it to be able to try this MMO.

| The corporate confirmation.
Tomorrow isn't 2012 by a long shot.
I've seen a video preview for the game taken by phone so that should be up tomorrow as well I guess.

Now, there's an idea. Maybe Zer0Morph can set up a topic where Team Camarilla International members can pledge their allegiance to the Coterie? - 8people wrote:

Smells like a smart decision. Although, I do hope some semblance of the "blood sympathy" is kneaded into the game. "Who but, God can scrutinize the depths of my blood? Let no Kindred say, "my father is not your father." We were all made slaves to the blood of the living. Until one of us can set his own flesh against the sun and cry out, "You are not my master, light of the living world. I take from your lords no more." and not die, we are all the same. We take life to have life. But, we cannot make life. We are all the same."

Sounds cool. The main reason I don't play WOW or other MMO's is that too many of the players are immature, due to their being about 12 years old (mentally, if not physically). I wouldn't mind teaming up with some people who actually want to roleplay. Not that I'd totally trust'em, of course. - z.o.o. wrote:

Had to look this one up online. Looks like in Requiem there are no caitiff, since you always have a feeling about how to find those of your blood, and what they're doing. This also means it's hard to hide anything from your sire, or progeny. Not sure I like this. Why would this be useful in a game, except to (possibly) let your 'relatives' know who killed you? - z.o.o. wrote:

Where is this quote from? Is it from VtR? I like it, regardless. I may file the serial numbers off and use it myself.

| Or maybe z.o.o. is talking about blood potency, where you can actually become more powerful with time, instead of always being weaker than your elders?
Anyway... I like this news, if it is true.
You know, I've been looking through the Requiem rules and trying not to barf. There are a few good ideas in there, but there's so much more that I really don't like. If I lost my mind and decided to run a Vampire PnP game, it would be based on OWoD but with a few changes from the new game that actually make sense.
(sigh) Why didn't WW just make a new revision to the old game? I would've hated and cursed them, but I would've bought the new stuff.

Yeah, I too like the ambiance the members of Team Camarilla International facilitate. Thank you all for being so cool here. I actually feel like I'm accepted here and I am amazed every time I think about it. Thank you all. For all the reasons you stated, this is why I like the idea of the blood sympathy. I made up the quote on the spot for the post as an answer to why I like the idea of the blood sympathy. The question, "Where have I heard that before?" reached up and bit me while I was typing it. I wonder if maybe I heard the phrase, "Let no man say, "my father is not your father." on the television or in a movie somewhere? I don't know. Go ahead and use it, otherwise it will be lost to time. Maybe 8people, Claudia, or Eliza (The Fates) would be able to tell you? They feel like the heavies when it comes to substantiating and/or qualifying statements with or against VtM or VtR lore.

| Generally the rules encourage you to make it harder for older vampires to gain skills.
Older vampires usually have to pay more experience to improve anything - including disciplines.
If the game is closer to pnp than any game so far, I'll be a very happy lass.

| In Eve Online, what was nice is that you could gain XP even without playing (as the offline system is awesome). But I DO hope it is not going to be the same exact system. Since in Eve, all players had to build everything. I'd rather have politics and npc created already, instead of the players creating their guilds and factions to become princes and stuff... Too much freedom and giving all the power to the PC will lead to "I'm a malkavian with Melpomene and Thaumaturgy, and I'm 6th generation, and I've gained favors from the Malkavian Madness Network, therefore if something happens all malkavians will roll over to save me roflmao" | |

| Just what we need... Munchkin Methuselahs. "My guy is a Tremere/Assamite Vizier crossbreed, and I've lowered my generation to '1' due to my use of Assamite blood potions," blah, blah. That sort of power gaming at the expense of logic is the reason I don't like gaming with MMO's, since they seem to attract gamers like that. I'm not going to build my hopes up too much, for fear they'll be slapped around and bent over a sofa. I'll just wait and see. | |

That way players could climb the political ladder without destabilizing the servers as a whole.

| I recon they would have to have a decent degree of NPC characters. Considering if this is going to be a full WOD game you'll have werewolves, vamps and mages at the least. So who on earth would bother to play human? Unless all mortals are hunters.. *shivers*
Still this would create that old feeling that there are no normal mortals in WOD due to the saturation of everything supernatural.
I'm also intrigued as to how, if they use werewolves, they will include the umbra or spirit realm that is supposedly everywhere on earth and many places beyond..?
Even still if it was only vampire one must consider there would need to be plenty of NPC to feed off, purchase items from and such that are present in a normal world...

| Currently only vampires are playable, I'm guessing most clans from what's been said so far. One place has claimed all 13 clans are playable, but I'm not sure - especially as final death may be making an appearance for characters. | |
