Young man dies from dehydration in the current Midi-Pyrenees heat wave

A young man, aged twenty two, was found dead in his car on Sunday evening in the town of Moissac, Tarn-et-Garonne.

It is believed that he died of dehydration, but a post mortem will carried out to confirm this. If confirmed, it highlights the dangers of the current high temperatures being experienced in the Midi-Pyrenees and south west France.

The young mans brother became concerned that he had not seen him all day and alerted the police in the late afternoon. Just before eight that evening, fire-fighters and ambulance crews found the young man sitting in his car.

During that day, the temperature reached a high of around thirty nine degrees in some areas of the Midi-Pyrenees and the heat in the car would have been immense.

Police have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the death of the man, but for the moment it would appear that he fell asleep n his car, which led to fatal dehydration.

Heat kills people. LOTS.

I feel sorry for the guy, and his family; but even animals have the sense to drink when they get thirsty. I have to drive home from work in 104 degree F (40 C) heat, in a truck with no A/C, and there is no way I would fall asleep in my car. Hopefully the average Common Sense of the human race just went up by the tiniest amount.

You want Darwin Award? Okey, happened last week right in my school.

Boy dies in car crash. He was drunk, driving a motorcycle, with food in his left hand, driving and holding his helmet (not on his head) with his right hand. He crossed red signal, got hit by a car. Died on the same instant.

I don't know nothing that screams "I WANNA DIE" more than this.

Stupid article in English didn't tell the whole story (stupid news aren't all translated)
Here's the catch : two young dudes (dead and older brother) come back home Saturday night drunk. Younger one decides he's too drunk so he'll sleep in the car. His brother goes home, locks the car and takes the electronic key with him. The Audi A6 car has a special lock that makes it impossible to open from the inside, and of course, the car was parked in the sun, and there was a heat alarm in the department (it was like 40°C in the shade, so in the car...)

The family didn't look for the dude until 7pm the next day, sunday because they believed he was asleep in his room, but it was too late. The guy woke up, dehydrated, and tried everything to break free from the car, but he just couldn't break the windows because there were double windows. And Audi is all like "but the manual says that when you lock down the car, you have to make sure nobody is in the car since you can't open it from the inside ! but this one car had no movement detector and even the honk was locked up".
The car is a high maintenance fancy car. Isn't it law nowadays to have some opening device from the inside for the trunk, in case of kidnapping and stuff ? Oo

I was wrong, this isn't a Darwin award, it's just a stupid murder from his brother >_>
