>Mountains between the coast and the center of the country
That's a bigger problem than I thought it would be. I guess we will have to contract some chinese to dynamite it.

>Brazil's geography keeps it down
That's arguable. Brazil has no earthquakes, no tornados or typhons, it snows very little and only in the very south, the climate is overall dependably hot and wet. There's plenty of drinkable water and rivers, and plenty of usable land. I've seen countries with worse geographies do much better than Brazil.

>Brazil will never have large cities
São Paulo and it's satellite cities have about 20 million people. Sit yourself down son.

>Brazil does not make enough food for itself, it has to import it.
True. But, as the video pointed out, most of the agriculture is done by large corporations. They focus on soybean and sugarcane products because it is more profitable to export it. It is not necessarily simply because of a shortage of fertile land. Also the government has many subsidies to soybean and sugarcane, so it wouldn't make sense not to take them and grow it.

>Despite it's large landmass, Brazil has relatively little arable land
Not what I've heard, but that's when I was in highschool. Brazil has one of the largest percentages of arable land out of all countries in the world according to my then geography teacher. But he was a hippie commie.

Overall, the video is correct. But I would disagree if someone were to say that Brazil will never be developed because of it's geography. The biggest problems in Brazil stems from institutional problems, such as high taxes, extreme burocracy, government inneficiencies, the million ways on which government funds spill out and leave little left to invest, and the like.

Case in point: the biggest producer of agricultural products in Brazil is the state of São Paulo (not the state capital of the same name). This is São Paulo: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/55/Sao_Paulo_in_Brazil.svg/300px-Sao_Paulo_in_Brazil.svg.png . As you can see, this state makes more agricultural products than all others. Why? Technology and infraestructure.

I suppose blaming it all on geography might be viewed as more "polite".

I watched with sympathy... I have it at home.

Sibi, do you want food?
*indignant and agressive meaowing*
Here you are!
*stare of death*
*not that food, incompetent slave!*
Out goes the cat...

I feel for that dog, though.

It is actually easy to get a cat to cooperate. You need to comand it to do what the cat already wants to do. Otherwise, cats are amazing at ignoring things.

The real problem is how strong the "not my problem" attitude is. I've heard people attribute it to Asians in general having a culture that focuses more on saving face, but honestly I think it has at least as much to do with living in an authoritarian state. There is only one step from minding your business and not interfering with the shady shit the state is doing (a typical survival strategy in most dictatorships) to minding your business and not interfering with shady shit that other individuals are doing.

Scots are insane, but that clip was still entertaining.

I'll have to watch the Mythbusters clip later.

The USA guy made me cringe. I liked the Mexican, he was chill and funny. The Indian and Scotsman were fine. The Indonesian guy really took that last stereotype personally.
