| When i play TFN the Strangest problem emerges.
It happens when i've cleared griffin park and i am transported to my haven in santa monica. Just as the cutscreen ends the game hangs itself and all i hear is Debs voice going still awake ke ke ke ke and i can't do anything i've tried waiting to see if it resolves itself but after an hour i gave up on that then i restarted and the same thing happened.
I've never encountered this problem before and i wonder if it's a common one if so is there a way to fix it?

| Yikes! Did you try restoring an old save and doing the Griffin Park quest again? That's all I can think of for now. I've never played far enough into the game to try Griffin but when I get some time I'll see what I can do. Does the game give you a crash report? | |

| No idea what could cause that. I never had any trouble there, no matter which mod I was playing. Can you get into the console when tha game hangs? then try leaving the console using the chareditor command. That should unfreeze the game. - | |

| Hmmm... If you hear Deb's voice, that means that the haven did start to load.
So something in the haven or haven code is causing the hang (or your character, but that's less likely).
Did you "save" Heather, by chance? And is Santa Monica your "normal" haven or did you upgrade to one of the other ones?
And did you feed on Heather without using the dialog options?
Zero or Malk would know the exact loading order the game takes when bringing up your haven, so they'd have a better shot at knowing what's next. When in doubt, try "noclip" if you can get to the console.
And of course, try again from an earlier saved game.

| Here is what you can't or can do.
-you can't access the console the game is frozen solid and all you hear is debs voice sounding like a broken record player repeating the annoying ke sound over and over again. -you can only tab-out or bring up the task manager in wich it says that the program doesn't respond.
here how i played.
-I saved Heather but did not keep her. -Santa monica is not my official haven. -I could never have fed on Heather as i did not keep her. -i have already reloaded six times.
here what i think.
-It's not the game or the mod it's my computer when i first played VTM my computer was old and now it's much newer i heard this could be a problem for the game.
solution.
-I'll replay the original version of the game and see if i encounter the same problem if i do then has something to do with my configurations being uncompatible.
while i have your attention
-Another thing i remember having problems with is the resolution patch it never worked for me no matter how many times i use it as the intructions tell me i still get the same message on screen "Input signal out of range" so i had to patch the game up to 7.9 unofficial patch and then the resolution problem is fixed automatically and then reinstall the mod on top of that so maybe that's the problem. So here is the order of event
-installed game no patches -installed mod can't play it. -patched it 7.9 resolution fixed. -reinstalled mod on top (it actually worked the only problem was that the screen was in a half-windowed mode in which the width is compressed against the center to form a "Normal screen" so to speak) and then this problem comes up

| With that installation order, it's most probably some inconsistence between the versions causes your loading problem. But I don't understand why the res-patch from the 7.9 Wesp version works, and the one from TFN does not. That program hasn't been changed at all. What you can try, however, is download the 6.4 or 6.5 (I'm not sure right now, which one TFN is based on) patch from the patches scrolls, install this, do the res patch, and then install TFN. That should work without trouble. - | |

| Order is wrong but respatch does work in TFN (I tried no later than yesterday !), without installing any up patch in between.
Have you tried playing in window mod ?

| Yep, you're right. I forgot that installing a mod will reset the resolution. - | |

| I personally think the issues lies in that you installed Patch 7.9 with TFN. If I were you I would completely start over by installing a new copy of Bloodlines fresh, and this time ONLY install TFN. I bet that will fix your problem.
As far as widescreen support/resolution patch, TFN doesn't officially support that. It may work though I've never used it or tested with it. The only 3 resolutions that TFN officially supports and are tested with are 800x600, 1024x768, and 1280x1024, all using the native 4:3 format. Like I said earlier, the resolution patch may work for you, but it's not officially supported by me so I don't take it into consideration when developing.
The resolution I do ALL of my development in is 1280x1024 which is why I put the little resolution info box on the main menu. Before I release anything however I do run through with the other 2 resolutions to make sure everything fits properly.

| I've done some reinstalling trying different things every time and here's what i get.
- When i install it and then mod it without any patch i can't get the respatch to work and all my screen says is "input signal out of range". - It doesn't matter if i play windowed mode or normal it says the same. - The curious thing is that i can't get the respatch to work manually but when the 7.9 patch launches it automatically it work perfectly. - I can't even play the normal game without the respatch so you see my dependence on it working fine. - even more strange is the fact that i installed CE 1.4 and 1.4,5 patch without any previous patches and it works fine with the resolution 1280x1024 is there any difference between the mods (despite the obvious supeficial differences and weapon system)?
good news is that i figured out how to get the game to play wide screen. It was apperantly my screens idea that the game had to be runned at "normal screen mode" not "Wide screen mode" so i set it up manually.

| Hm, I didin't have any problem switching TFN to 1280*800, my usual resolution. Perhaps you should try to reset the resolution to the basic 640*480. That's also the format I use for the upload versions of CE. And then in a second res patch run go from there to your usual resolution. - | |

This sounds like a graphics card or monitor issue. Do you have the latest drivers? And you do you have a catalyst control center, or something similar (whatever Nvidia uses)? If you do, try screwing around with the settings from there. Also, just to be complete, when you run respatch, are you right clicking on it and picking "run as administrator"? (I swear, MS should just change the wording to "I'd like this to work..."

| I'm back again! Been away far too long. Allright stuff came between me and gaming for a while so i haven't been able to do much to solve my problem so long short. I could finish camarilla edition 1.4,5 without problem so i went back to messing with TFN for a while. I checked my Catalyst control center and it said that my drivers were top notch. Then I went to the respatch and clicked "run as an administrator" and i got nowhere from there same thing as before. Then TFN 1.1 came out and I installed it and voila, it worked perfectly then i had something called national tests in school so that consumed two and a half month of my time so i never got the chance to play TFN. But anyway I just finished TFN 1.1 and with no bugs or problems that couldn't be fixed by restarting the game. so i guess my problem is solved whatever you guys did in 1.1 please keep it, it works great | |
