| Assassins Creed 1 I played, and it was pretty solid. It does get major boring towards mid-game, when you realize it's basically the same thing over and over (Report to old dude - get info - kill someone - report to old dude). The ending is pretty good. It's an okay action/ assassination game. The story leaves a lot of things "hanging", since you won't be able to understand it without playing the other games of the series. I never played 2, 3 , revelations, brotherhood, or whatever the fuck it is atm, so many sequels in so little time. I never need to worry about those DRM's. Pirate Bay helps a lot in that situation | |

- Everyone tells me Assassin's Creed 1 was kind've boring, but part 2 was amazing! I've never played any of the Assassin Creed games, are they any good? I loved the Hitman and Splinter Cell series because I like to sneak around, so would I like the AC series?
Also is AC part 3 any good? Last question (sorry for all the AC questions), do you have to play it online in order to play? I hate DRM's that make you play it online (Like Diablo III will be). AC 1 will get repetitive after a while since all the info gathering quests are pretty much the same. It is also the introduction game to the whole series, though you can play it stand alone. AC 2 is really really good. The missions all feel different and there are a ton of places to discover. Sadly, you do need a permanent internet connection for this one. Also, the story is more explained here and there's a twist. AC:Brotherhood I don't know. I have seen a couple vids of it and I assume that it continous on the amazingness. AC:Revelations I really don't know, but as with Brotherhood, I guess it is amazing For all games, they're visually awesome. Hope you got a good graphics card if you intend to play it

| Hmm i don't get the AC hype.. Played AC 1 and it was boring.. never touched another AC and probably never will.. I guess it's the word "Assassin" that locks so many people.. like 70% of Skyrim players play a sneak archer dagger assassin.. There are better "assassin" games in my opinion.. | |

I recommend playing KOTOR 2 at some point. Much like Bloodlines it's basically a flawed masterpiece. Come to think of it, since KOTOR 2 was made by Obsidian and Bloodlines was made by Troika, there were probably some of the same people working on both games. Anyway, it introduces many mechanical improvements (skills are useful, Jedi Sentinels are no longer a bad class, more complex crafting) and has a deeper story than any other Star Wars product I've ever watched or played. The way it handles the final villain is pretty unique (that's all I can say without giving out spoilers) and most joinable NPCs also have much deeper personalities than it seems at first. Well, except for HK-47 of course, who is pretty much just an omnicidial maniac but a hilariously entertaining one at that. That said, the game clearly wasn't finished and the ending in particular will leave you scratching your head and thinking WTF just happened. Only after replaying the game and paying more attention to the backstory did I finally understand what was going on. And the combat is a bit on the easy side, at least if you know what you're doing. But overall it's still a very enjoyable game. - Nachtrae wrote:

Yes, I completely agree. An excellent example is an old animated film Flight of Dragons. There is this evil wizard Ommadon, who looks completely ridiculous and has a very cliche plan ... but he is voiced by James Earl Jones of Darth Vader fame.

| Dragatus would you recommend to play KOTOR 1 first and than KOTOR 2? Or is it not relevant for the story? As i didn't really liked KOTOR 1.. after 5 hours i put it away ^^ | |

| Assassin's creed 1 is truly a mission game, while AC 2 (+ brotherhood, + revelations), which are Ezio's story, are that : a story. Brotherhood has more drama, and Revelations is, truly, the end of Ezio's story. All three games about Ezio let you wander around several cities and throw you lots of sidequests, with many different gameplays according to the missions. Frankly, the last one is the best. Revelations has a multiplayer online mod which is awesome. Basically, it's Unreal Tornament, catch the flag, kill everyone... but the best is really the infiltration -kill-the-target part. All of the players get a target they must hit, and they, themselves, are a target. But the thing is that there are many NPCs in the map, and if you're discrete, don't run around and jump, they won't see you (skins are awfully similar). It's truly strategic and frankly, "not bad". Loved beta testing it. Zer0, you don't need to be online to play the actual game, as far as I know, but -> PS3 me Then we'll have AC3, which will be Desmond's story. | |

| Thanks for all of the Assassin's Creed feedback. It's one series I may try out some day, I just didn't know if I'd be wasting my time/money. If I have to play it online then I'll need to visit the Pirate Bay. I refuse to submit to an online only DRM.
Speaking of, Diablo III will be an online only DRM meaning we'll have to have a battle.net emulator to run the game locally. I know hackers are working on one so hopefully it will be ready a few months after release, we'll see.

| few months after release? Bitch please, it'll probably be ready before the game starts selling. Hackers gonna hack, pirates gonna pirate and i'm gonna be happy.
I don't see myself playing Kotor 2 at any time in the near future, but i might pick it up if i get very bored.

I'm inclined to agree. Can be fun to play occasionally, but is boring to death to watch on TV.
