| Yea cabbie is either Caine or a VERY powerful malkavian. He and Jack both got that wierd purple aura when you use auspex on em (or is that just me?) and the other malkavian on the beach states... "Wh-Why is he smiling? I-is that the father behind him?" Father makes me think Malkavian sire or Caine. If this is a Malk then it is possible he's using the malkavian's web of insanity to influence other Malkavians into thinking he is actually Caine. | |

| I'd really thought the cabbie was Caine at first.
And then i've started reading about Vtm:B lore, and reached the conclusion that it could absolutely NOT be Caine. He just dont give a fuck.
Maybe it's the elder in the sarcophagus, whom Jack awakened. Thinking about it, you first see the cabbie immediatly before the Elizabeth Dane quest. Or the malkavian ancient.

If memory serves, you are not the only sclerotic here, Philo, so do not despair.

| I'm on the 'more roleplaying quests' bandwagon.
Sometimes I just quit my games after Hollywood, because once you hit the warrens, it's nothing but a kill fest after that. All those nice dialogue options and chances to use social skill are pretty much gone: wipe out the creatures in the warrens, kill all the Tong, Giovanni Mansion, clear out the Society of Leopold, Kill all the Sabbat, werewolf, then Kill all Ming's and Lacroix's minions.
There's a bit of roleplay possible in the Giovanni Mansion Social Pageant, but then you enter the dungeon and its just kill, kill, kill again.
Edit: for reference, in Arcanum (another Troika Masterwork), you could defeat the final 'boss' of the game with diplomacy if you went that route all the way with your character.

| Activision forced Bloodlines out the door when it was halt developed... I think it was ment to be a lot like Arcanum, or like first half of the gmae itself: many roads to get the quest done... But Troika had to finish ASAP, and kill, kill, kill is the easiest thing to code fast. No voiceacting, no lip files... To think what VtMB could have been if the developers had time to finish it properly. And then publisher was shocked the game doesn't sell... | |
