| I really like Gary's model and skin (the Nosferatu primogen) and I was wondering if you can replace some files in order to have him as the default nosferatu skin. | |

| Barabbus, the Nosferatu you are looking for in Chinatown, would be good too. Trade him for the current default, and things would be great. It's not that the default Nossies are bad, it's the stupid S&M gear they are wearing.
Of course, I have only run through once as a Nosferatu. After a while, slinking through the sewers gets old. Perhaps if you had to fight random Sabbat or Kuei-jin that are trying to infiltrate L.A., it would be more interesting.
Or maybe that could be an alternate quest. Maybe I'll suggest this as a quest for CQM.

Why, I found those funny. As if Nossies weren't freakish enough... - Duncan.Oliver wrote:

I'll never use a major NPC as a deault character model, but you can easily do it for yourself. The easiest way is to change the model path in your clandoc.txt file. But keep in mind that there are no different Gary skins for the different armors. If you want to do it anyway: - open \vampire\vdata\system\clandoc000.txt with a text editor - search for player_nosferatu, and in that block for the armor paths - swap all the male body entries with Gary's model path, that's something like \vampire\models\npc\unique\hollywood(might be warrens, i'm not quite sure right now) \gary\gary.mdl That's it. But it is possible that the gary model has no animations for the character editor. In that case, when you open the character editor, he will stand there like a zombie waiting for the next brain to pass by. -

| Yes, I remember my attempt to swap Pisha for the default Gangrel female skin. It looked good, except for when she walked - then there were obvious clipping issues as Pisha was never made to move like the player. It was still fun, though. | |

There is, but not unpacked from the archives. Path is: \vampire\models\character\npc\unique\hollywood\gary\nosferatu_gary.mdl If you want to try Barabus, the path is: \vampire\models\character\npc\unique\chinatown\barabus\barabus.mdl Sorry, I often forget that most models are not unpacked because they are not changed by either the patch or the mod. -

The only unpacked folders you have... That is because these are the models where tha patch or CE have made changes to the vanilla version of the model. For everything else, there is no need to unpack the files from the archives. You won't find most of the pc models either, because there are no changes, so no unpacking needed. Just enter the path I told you in my last post in clandoc, and your Nossie will look like Gary or Barabus. -

| In your main Bloodlines folder there is a file called Vampire.dat. That file contains all the models and system files and so on and they all have internal paths. If the game can't find a file the game folders it will look for it in Vampire.dat. That's why only files that have been changed from the default game need to be unpacked in the folders. | |

| Thanks, it actually worked and there's no clipping or animations problem whatsoever. If only it was possible to have a somewhat difference between the two skins, like per example to have a darker blazer than the one Gary's wearing, so that it's not such a ripoff, but it's still quite nice. I like to think how my character's also an arrogant, haughty person whose life just got destroyed by the embrace. | |

Sounds very cool. I should try it some time. For another great nossie skin (the one I always use) check this out: http://www.fileplanet.com/183346/180000/fileinfo/Vampire:-The-Masquerade---Bloodlines---Nosferatu-Punk-Skin It's very professionally made and is a great alternative to the default S&M skin, opting for more of a punk look. Definitely not like Gary, though Nobody is as cool as Gary
