| I think I know the answer to this already, but thought I'd ask anyway because I'm curious what the responses would be.
What are the limitations of Histories? Can they only change discipline duration and stat points you start with?
Can they be used to change the character model?
I know a lot of people would just override the models they don't like, I admit when I played the game first I was disappointed by the lack of visual options. I know from other mods alternative directories can be loaded up for alternative clans, but can a history set the path for where the models are drawn from?
Just curious at the possibilities, as even if it's just recolours or minor alterations to existing models, it could be an interesting take on things. Any thoughts?

| I have tried some things with histories, but not changing the character models. What you can do is change nearly everything concerning the Attributes, Abilities, Disciplines, and feats. The most simple things are Canges for the maximum and minimum values of the above. You can create a separate xp-table for any stat. So some strong and intimidaring character could perhaps rise his strength very cheap, but on the other hand, he'd need lots of xp to rise charisma or subterfuge. It's possible to give a bonus or a malus to the feats, or change the rate at which the attributes and abilities influence the feats. E.g. I have tried a character, who would get the defense feat at a rate of 3/2(Wits+Dodge), and balanced it by setting the soak feats to a maximum of 1, even if wearing armor. You can change the duration or damage for any discipline or the healing rate. You can even change the available disciplines, but you cannot increase the level of a new discipline for the character. It is possible to give the character special starting equipment or deny him the use of certain items, but you need to make special tables for the game to look these changes up, and I haven't yet tried out how to do that. This should give you some ideas of what is possible and what isn't - Edit: If you want to give it a try, there are two files you need to work with: traiteffects000.txt and histories000.txt. Both are located in \vampire\vdata\system | |

As far as I can tell it seems to be unlimited, unlike the set number of clans. I have added (not replaced) histories and the game created an additional spot automatically for the new history, pretty cool.

I totally wish, I know this is impossible.

| You can add new clans anyway, but they won't show on the list - you would have to select them another way (such as altering the questionnaire at the beginning of character creation. | |

| Maybe re-model the existing chars, but I think it's easier to just download new skins and there's a few mods about other clans, I played one as Tzimisce but the model was Tremere Female same as vanilla - -" Normally they will only change the clan symbols and put new histories (no chance for example, to use a char like Andrei, however I saw in some sites Beckett's skin so who knows). | |

| It's because Andrei doesn't have all the animations, so reskinning him for PC use isn't really feasible Venus however, has pretty much all the animations. How odd, isn't it? | |

| Indeed I think when it comes to new clans, more PCs options,etc.. only a remake of Redemption, keeping the same engine, only making new maps and adding a new story mode would success, since there's an discipline there, forgot the name now, you can revive the NPCs you killed and have control over it's body, I tested it on vampire like Nosferatu while I controlled an Capadocian, well the NPC had his clan disciplines all in place, could feed-atack-use skill so Redemption's engine would rid this problem of movement limit .-. also I checked AoR yesterday and I got surprised with the different kinds of skins and also a video they managed to add Janette in that game. Wich makes me think, do you guys think if Redemption was given priority on all kinds of MODs it could be the largest vampire game ever? | |
