| I think if you lie to Doris to get money from her, your humanity should take a hit. When you lie to Mercurio it's a No No. This has always bugged me a little bit. | |

| I'm not sure about the humanity loss. Perhaps only if your current humanity is at least 7 or 8. But there is another thing that has bothered me right from my first playthrough: You can get money from her by pretending to be a corrupt health inspector. And then she seems to have instant amnesia. Because you can just strike up a new conversation, asking for thin blood... - | |

- I what you mean. The first time I tried the health inspector bit, I thought for sure she'd blow me off when I approached her again. Nope it was like nothing happened. Maybe they intended that health inspector dialogue to be a bit of a joke? I don't know.

Score - Moral Guideline 10 - Selfish thoughts 9 - Minor selfish acts 8 - Injury to another (accidental or otherwise) 7 - Theft 6 - Accidental violation (drinking a vessel dry out of starvation) 5 - Intentional property damage 4 - Impassioned violation (manslaughter, killing a vessel in frenzy) 3 - Planned violation (outright murder, savored exsanguinations) 2 - Casual violation (thoughtless killing, feeding past satiation) 1 - Utter perversion or heinous acts I think we could equate blackmail with theft, so we can justify loss of Humanity, if your Humanity is 7 or higher. And yes, the amnesia bothers me as well.

| I think blackmail would go under Minor selfish acts, therefore 9.
Yeah, that amnesia was hilarious the first time. Poor Doris. I think the Health Inspector stunt was planned to preempt getting information from Doris and force PC to seek another source. But as the game was published waay prematurely, and from pre-Alfa, so to speak. Alfa CD, which happend to equal final version due to Troika's near-bancrupcy was lost en-route to publisher. I wonder what game might we have played... But to topic. I have vague recollections of things not quite making sense, but over n-th replay I cesed to notice them. Does anyone know of other quests that seem to have been intended to be... bigger?

| I could understand if a lie was a minor offense but you get your humanity tapped when you take the money at the beach house and lie to Mercurio so you can keep it. Maybe a major offense only happens with sums of 100 or more? LOL | |

Maybe if you got $5 out of it, it would be a minor selfish act. But since you get $50 out of it, I think "theft" fits better.

| I'd also say theft, if not even robbery. Because you don't only illegaly take someone's posessions, you also threaten them to give it to you. - | |
