| I'm not going to lie, after the first time I played the game, I stopped playing past the Italian Dinner Quest because I had a conflict of interests with the game's end. I loved the game right up to the Giovanni Mansion. The part of the game I love the most is Hollywood and after I get the sarcophagus for the Prince I usually go back to Hollywood and raise a little hell and then I'm done. My question for everyone is this: what's your favorite area of the game? Do you finish the whole thing or do you stop after you're done doing the Masquerade part of the game like I do? | |

| The areas I like the most are the Ocean House and Grout's. The museum is quite nice, too. Especially with a Malk, I love playing hide and seek with the guards while looking at dinosaurs. "It was stolen, but there were lots of dinosaurs, so I had fun..." But many of my characters don't even make it past Santa Monica. Either because I stop playing the game for some time, and when I'm in playing mood again I prefer restarting with a new character. Or it's because i'm playing them on my modding copy of the game, and as soon as I make changes on a map they have already visited, and might return to, I can't play them further. If I don't stop for one of the above reasons, I usually play until the end. I want to see the fireworks at the tower - | |

| With all Chars i do SM and Downtown. Sometimes a new game comes out, you play it and forget about vtmb for a while, come back and i have to start a new char because i don't remember what i already did with the existing char.
Ocean House is #1 by far, followed by Grout's Mansion.
The thing i hate most is the Endgame. Too damn much fighting at once vs orange ninja/samurai and/or SWAT team.. I love to die because i mainly play glasscannon builds without any defense/soak feats.
Still i play through the whole game most of the time. But it's hard to roleplay for me, as i always want MAX XP!

| The Ocean House and Grouts are my favourite parts.
I find the weakest parts of the game are the warrens and the end game, they are to my mind just slash and dice.
Mind you I think that is because they were forced to get the game out in a rush.
If only Trokia were allowed more time by Activision to finish it properly, what a game it could been.

| I really like SM, mostly for the dark, creepy mood... Hollywood is OK, it provides fun sort of quests. Chinatown for the Hitman quest. If I want a scare, Ocean House and Warrens are great. I like Ocean House more, it has the creepy mood without creepy crawlers. I usually go to the endgame. I generally like to finish what i start There are exceptions, though: I abandoned my Baali midgame, because TFN is, well... Lets say I prefer to roleplay allocating xp, not think what I would need for incoming quests. And leaving quests undone is a pain for me. Honestly, Daimoion isn't that useful, too. I must admit I prefer the Masquerade part of the game. After it becomes hack and slash it is not too great. | |

| Malk you just inspired me to do a little more sight seeing at the Museum next time.
Bloodstone, the first time I found myself in the Warrens, I nearly wet myself and it seemed to go on and on. I was scared to look around the next corner. When I found the Nossie hide out, all I kept thinking was: "Wow I may never sleep again after what I just went through." I thought it was brilliant. Hollywood which is suppose to be the corner stone of California Culture and home to Toreadors wound up having this labyrinth of horrors deep underground. I hated it and loved it at the same time.
The ending doesn't hold up to the game's flow at all. I will never understand how we go from being a fledgling in this society of vampires to being the one that goes in with guns blazing to solve centuries old feuds for power. So when I drop off the sarcophagus to the prince and give Pisha the Tome, I end the game there because in my mind I did what Nines told me to do: "Once you settle things up with Lacroix, don't give that Son of a Bitch the time of night." I have heard the game was rushed to meet the deadline given to them. I also believe that toward the end they ran out of ideas for the story and just wanted to figure out a cost effective and fun way to take you to the end. For what it is, it's a great game no matter what and I don't let the end spoil the whole experience for me.

LOL It irritates me to spend my time killing everything that moves with my depleted ammo while bad guys run up to me, shoot at me and hit me with stuff for hours. HA HA HA I can't stand that crap!

| The combat of the game, meh...
I love the Ocean House. I'm a huge fan of Grout's mansion after the electricity thingy (and totally love the part with the wife) As for classical maps, my fav one is DownTown.

| I think it's great how nearly everyone's favorite areas are the Ocean House and Grout's mansion. Those are always my favorites. I've played many, many times (well over 50 but probably less than 100, with different mods/patches) yet I always take the time to play Grout's tape recorders. "I am mired in a foul ennui..." Love the monologues. Unlike many people though, I don't mind the battles at the end. It's almost cathartic to finally be able to cut loose. Perhaps part of this is due to the fact that I am a melee person. I don't like guns in VtM, and especially Bloodlines. The bush hook is possibly the coolest weapon in the game... it's basically a naginata. Or a naginata is basically a garden tool, whichever way you choose to look at it. I love making the Sheriff look like a noob in that last battle. That may be why my favorite character is actually the Ventrue. Once you have Fortitude and Presence maxed out, he can barely hurt you. Plus, his little 'disappear and reappear behind you' trick is useless if you turn around immediately when he blips out and slash behind you. I can usually hit him before he has a chance to hit me. That, of course, is why he gets frustrated and resorts to BigBatForm. Does him no good, though... | |

| I like - like everyone else the Ocean Hotel and the Hollywood. I love the mainquest with the deathmask production video. It gave me so much creeps with the whole thing about those sich videos and those two legged ghoules. The only problem is, after nearly an hour of fighting those creatures in the sewers, you can't get anymore scared of them. | |

| I feel like a Music Man, so I love Hollywood and Dark Asia for their background soundtrack. And when I feel like Creepy Lover, I like Ocean House and Tzimisce lair&warrens&snuff-studio. All that jumpy hoo-hoo thingies, bleh. And when I feel like Splinter Meow, I love endgame. Because guess what? I have a gun from Church-lovers. It has a zoooom, and it doesn't budge! So you just do 1 step, another step, then some door breaks and script is not running yet, and then HEADSHOT! Yeah... Tasty... And then I feel like a Nostalgic Man, I love Grout's Mansion. I love to Obfuscate and listen to tape recorders with subtitles, with all those strange babies standing around with knives. Lovely sight. | |

| Unlike most people I'm not really a fan the Ocean House Hotel or Grout's Mansion. I agree that they are excellently done, I just don't enjoy playing through those parts of the game anymore. Not sure why, maybe it's the lienarity. I prefer the major hubs.
I like the visuals and atmosphere of Chinatown best, but it's probably the worst hub in term of quest (though the side quests avilable are all highly entertaining). I guess that all things considered my favourite area is Downtown. I like the visuals, it has plenty of quests, lots of cool NPCs to talk to, and by the time I reach it my character build is already shaping up.
I always play from start to finish, though how much I appreciate the endgame varies. Sometimes I just want to get it over with ASAP, but sometimes I enjoy handing out a good trashing.

| For the endgame. How much I like the temple depends on my mood. In the tower I usually ignore the humans on the low levels, but nobody can stop me leaving piles of ash on the carpet once I get up to the Ventrue level... And it always makes me LOL when vampires drop dead, and then for the fiery death animation, their skeleton is standing up again... - | |

| I once stealthed through most of the Ventrue tower, taking out only those I couldn't pass with Obfuscate 5. LaCroix really should have gotten a couple guards with Auspex. The Sabbat are way trickier if you're a sneaky, Obfuscate oriented character. As for the area I like most....I don't think I really have any specifics. Though I do admit to loving Grout's mansion and the scattered monologues. It's just...awesome. Just as it's awesome to plow through the place in a warform that lasts ages because of very effective use of all the blood just walking around I also like the Tzimisce house. Just has that twisted feel over it. Sewers, eh, they're alright. Once you learn the layout of the place, they're not that big anymore. Personally, I don't mind the fighting at the end. Yea, it's a little odd that you as a mere fledgling are capable of going toe to toe with beings waaaaay older than you, but all in all, the story is coming to a close, you know the truth (most of it at least), you're hunted, and enemies gotta disappear. And I agree with Karavolos. The taxi scene at the end is great too XD | |

| While I can certainly appreciate many areas in this game, namely those already said, I have a certain preference for one that hasn't.
What is this? The Skyline Apartments. To be specific, the one that gives safe haven to a...Vampire. It might be too close to death in some cultures, but in this instance, we already are. Intentional? Perhaps.
I just wish there were more options to use it, beyond Heather, the news, the computer and the radio.
I'd also think that it should be considered an Eylsium, but that might limit what you can currently do.

That is because Andrei is a properly trained villain, with all the necessary skills to make it hard for the hero, but to be overcome in the end. And LaCroix is just some upshot Ventrue asshole with an overabundance of self-importance and no imagination at all. - Nachtrae wrote:

I'm a compass at the north pole. Maxus, do you have suggestion what else to do in the haven? Turning the haven to Elysium is not a problem, but it is not a good idea, because then your character can't even reload a gun there, or bloodheal before setting out again. -

- Actually many things, most of them things that I've seen in more recent games, although a few ideas of my own are things that almost no game I've seen as done. Although, some would be a bit useless, given the sort of character we play. Okay, maybe not entirely, but it would be more for...well, I'm somewhat unsure what to call it. Say like in any game you can have a few drinks, or perhaps a meal in your apartment/ship/home/etc. Not something that effects stats, or the plot all that much, but still something interesting. And I mostly mention making the Haven an Elysium, to avoid the Sabbat breaking in to kidnap Heather, but given that they could get into LaCroix' tower so easily, I doubt that would be something that stops it. Actually, I(although it is probably more than just me) find it quite interesting that the Sabbat can break into a TREMERE CHANTRY, and I don't think Strauss really has anything to say about the matter - even if you act completely loyal to the clan, and never say so much as a thing against him, the clan, or the Camarilla. Oh, and I have a certain liking for the Tremere haven as well. I mean, LOOK at it. It can compare with Skyline, but it is by a narrow margin. In fact, the only way Skyline has the Chantry beat, is in space(not SPAAAAACE!!!!, but square feet). In comparison to the rest? Well, it is possible to compare them, but why bother?

| Hm, a meal or drinks would require for Heather to lure in some more McFlys... For other ideas, maybe I can extend the custom music options a bit, so you can listen to some music in your haven. Why do you think the Sabbat breaks into your haven. I have always assumed that Heather is kidnapped while she is out, getting stuff like the body armor, or just buying something to eat for herself. Personally, I don't like any of the havens. Santa Monica is just a dump, same goes for the sewer rat haven. For the chantry, I just can't stand that horrible red wallpaper. I makes the place look so 70s... And the Skyline apartment, with that uncovered ceiling it must have all the good acoustics of the waiting hall in a railroad station... - | |

| I liked the Society of Leopold, the Asylum (for the music and Tourette), Vesuvius (The music and Velvet), Confession (Venus, and Thank you Camarilla Edition creators for making her say her lines and that you could still get on your knees and confess your sins), and the Pier (The music, and the Thinbloods.) | |

| Hm, the society is just straitforward hack and slash. If I want a combat oriented level, I prefer the Hallowbrook Hotel, where you get different kinds of opponents, and have to utilize at least a bit of diversified tactics. Glad to hear that someone apreciates my efforts on Venus. Get your seduction up, and you might still enter her orifice... Unless you're a Ventrue of course. She isn't that noble after all... - | |

After you're a silent partner of her club, you can keep confessing sins to her. Most of them game related, instead of the conversation being limited to "Money, right?" And you can also, with a randomized chance seduce her and be teleported to the office again, where you can use her as a blooddoll. -
