LaCroix, Obtaining Enemy of My Enemy

I cannot obtain the mission Enemy of My Enemy.

Ming told me she has the key to the sarcophagus.

The last thing La Croix says, "Keep it up and you may have HIS job."

My character has 1 reply option "I do not have a valid reply." I leave La Croix's Tower and Beckett doesn't show up. I've read this is a common problem. At the last round Nines and Jack are gone.

I read over this thread and didn't notice any answers to my problem. Maybe I missed something?

I'm hoping there is a quick fix to progress to the mission "The Enemy of My Enemy". I currently have full Humanity, I intend to reduce it and try again, but I fear this will not solve my problem.

For your problem I need a bit more info. Do you get any money? what is your haggling score? And enter G.Prince_Reaction to the console and tell me what number it returns.

Beckett not turning up on the way to the last round is a known problem with TFN, but not related to your dialog problem.

At that story state, neither Nines nor Jack should be in the last round.

Ok, so everything seems to be in order. In fact, I figured Becket wouldn't show up until I received the Mission Enemy of My Enemy.

G.Prince_Reaction returns "0"

Somehow my haggle Feat is at 11... I figure this is the problem. Anyway to fix it?

There is, if you feel up to a bit of python scripting. Open \vampire\python\downtown\downtown.py with a text editor, find the function def SetNPCs(): and comment out the line SetGangs(). Comments in python are done with # at the beginning of the line.
You can do that any time you want. But since Beckett not turning up is no gamebreaking problem, I wouldn't go back to a previous save with the current character, only do it for the next one.

Haggling at 11. You probably got that by having finance at 5 already when you talked to Larry after the traffic quest. Yes that will cause the "no valid reply" problem.

It's ridiculous how well you know this game. Lol. Yea, I got his finance bonus after and already had finance 5. I always wondered if the game gave any additional bonus for attributes above 10. Now I know. Thanks again for all your help.

Yeah, Childe has never taken a break in the past 3 years of modding this game (as I have). He's an encyclopedia of Bloodlines knowledge.

Some time ago many would find Beckett getting stuck on his way to warning you. At the time nobody had figured out the code to fix it and I didn't want to release TFN with that bug so I simply removed the entire event. Since then I believe it's been fixed though I never took the time to put it back in.
