with auspex, i had seen him there, i mean his telltale aura
(and then even that fading away, as if he kinda ceased to be there and went somewhere else)
but, after i offed gimble, i did not get even that!!!

where does he go to,

i only went looking for him
after reporting to arthur kilpatrick,
not straight after i finished him off.

oh, and i noticed...
one, probably two, new ways to dispose of gimble...
send him to the clinic, on the pretetxt to harvest parts for his experiments, only to add another blood donor to vandal

i did use auspex
when looking at the back alley at the back of the pawnshop
i did see the indigo aura of a vampire
even if around a void
saying there is an obfuscated vampire there
and even if it vanishes shortly afterwards
implying something like teletransport somewhere else.

i know what i saw
i saw something there.

do i get to meet him?
where and when?

do you happen to know who he is and what is he up to?

It's one of the oh so mysterious things in the game.

The developers may have intended to use that mysterious guy in the alley later in the game, and changed their mind when they started to go bankrupt. Or he may be one of the guys who waylays your character when you head to Downtown L.A. for the first time -- he looks like the big talker that Nines kills. Then again, half of the Sabbat in the Hallowbrook Hotel look like that guy.

Or he could just be there to keep you wondering.

Wesp added him. I figured it was the guy from the Sabbat that try and kill you the first time after the cab, yes. Why ? Because he only appears after you've blown the warehouse, so it's logical that he's around to follow you so he can catch you once you're in the cab. Seems like a regular stalking to me.

He was reactivated and moved to this particular spot by Wesp. The model has always been on the map.

1 - he was already there the very first time i went to that alley

2 - nobody (who could have done so) has actually told me yet who he is nor his agenda.

3 - i think he is beckett.
he is in the top of the cliff when i go investigate carnival of death
he is there when the sabat warehouse is blown out
and in that dialogue he does let on that he has been keeping an eye on me.
(actually.... i haven't gone to that part yet, will have to come back on that...)
he says something like we just have happened to be in the same place at the same time
but something in the tone of the dialogue seems to imply that he has actually been keeping track of me.

he is an historian
i think he has the feeling that i will change history, affect history, go down in history, or some such...

(if he's just there to be mysterious....
and you say he has been there from weps patch
and yet is the first time i see him...)

oh and btw i actually think his silhouette is akin to beckett
but silhouettes can be so deceiving....
a build, only, you can infer....

Proof? I fail to see any screenshot proofing he was there before you blew the warehouse.

What doesn't allow this sabbat kindred to hunt in SM even before you blow the warehouse ? It's not Beckett since its not Becketts model. Either it's that one sabbat guy or A sabbat guy since many share that skin in the hollobrock hotel as well.
Wesp has confirmed its the one nines kill since AFTER that, he's not there anymore.

In my game he appears after I beat up Dennis and co. and stays until I approach or enter downtown for the first time.

You said you showed up "before". But before what ? I went there right after seeing the cinematic with Mercurio, and he wasn't there. You can prove it by screening your quest log as well. Your word is not reliable since you cannot use "words".
