| A long time ago... 2005-2006 maybe... I first learned about VTM. I read plenty online, mostly on White Wolf's site, a little elsewhere. I had just gotten to that point where I had realized I liked vampires, and I was reading and writing about them a lot. My memory's gotten fuzzy on some things since then, and I'm hoping someone can straighten out something for me. One of the details I remember was that a human bitten too frequently--for instance, an overly popular Blood Doll--would eventually fade and become sort of comatose, with little if any conscious thought and no initiative. Essentially they'd have become "burned out". Despite now owning several books, including the core rulebook (second edition), I have not been able to find anything that mentions any such implications. I know I did a lot of studying around the same time regarding brain chemicals, especially addiction and its long-term effects... and since I can't find this info I'm starting to wonder if I ever actually read it or not. So my question is: can anyone corroborate this information? I might have made it up for my own stories based on something I had read about neurochemistry, and/or gotten it mixed up with the side-effects of Domination, since they are very similar. I like the idea; as I write about original vampires as well as fanfiction on occasion, it's something I could put to good use, but I'd want to be sure of where it would be appropriate to use, especially so I could be sure I wasn't taking an idea that isn't mine. | |

| It's a side effect of dominate ; the more dominated a mortal is, the less drive they have. It's lobotomy after all Being bitten often doesn't cause anything special to anyone, apart from the regular blood loss effects (and the bliss from the kiss, except if the vampire is giovanni, they just get a big and regular orgasm each time they get bitten). | |

| Exactly, that's why I said "except if they're Giovanni" between commas, since the rest is for everyone else

- Not a bad idea... But then the conversations lose flavor. *cuddles the cookie and munches Claudia* Owww shite... *puts paws on eyes* *lies ears flat, puts tail between the hind legs and starts nuzzling Claudia, whining softly*
