| Hmmm, seen this thread here for a while now and have been meaning to reply so yeah here I am xD. I quite liked that thingie wherever it came from, right up until Caine bit, he may be a Mary-Sue and the writer may not like him but he's there and by not addressing that issue much it makes me go meh.
So~o, what if Grout was the Cabbie? And he's used Dementation since you first meet him? He's certainly strong enough, and those he fears probably wouldn't take a cab *shrugs* I don't know much about that specific Discipline to tell if it's possible but it's a theory I've had for a while now. | |

| It has a nice paranoid flavour to it... Grout obfuscated as Cabbie... But they have very different voice, no? | |

I believe you can change the sound of your voice with Obfuscate. | |

I believe you can change the sound of your voice with Obfuscate. I think I have seen it in one of the Clan Novels, yes... But accepting your theory would still add a fresh bucket of paranoia to Bloodlines... Good job. | |

I'm pretty sure I've used it in the RP section, otherwise Nyx would sound like a lizard that smokes heavily lol ~^-^~ thanks hun *hugs* *Tries her hardest not to look behind her, there is no Nictuku.* | |

| Yes obfuscate can change your voice : after all the discipline fucks with people's perception so why not voice too ?
I think the cabbie's official malk is younger than that, but that's a very interesting idea ! I don't think troika thought about it, they assume grout is dead by Ming Xiao and the body bing wrong for u is not wrong for the game : it was just to make the players knew grout was dead | |

| Now that I look back on this thread, and I don't imagine that it was talked on, but for now, I will say that I will play Thread Necromancer.
One thing that can be said of prophesies said by Malkavians (or any means of looking to the future) is that time remains in flux, and as such it's a possible future. By the same means, this would mean that the same argument can debunk this thought.
The one thing that has horrendously bothered me when rereading the Grout recordings that Grout said of a powerful vampire with blackest crimes both past and future.
The thing that bothers me about this is how does any of this apply to Lacroix? I can understand "the blackest of crimes" part because of how politics work there, but why does it say the "future" part? I mean, with the Sarcophagus booby trapped and with 4/6 endings of the game involving him dying (6/8 if we want to be technical with the "Open the Sarcophagus yourself ending" in the Independent and Anarch endings), he doesn't even have a future as most mechanics dealing with seeing the future usually say "It usually shows the most probable future". And I don't think I need to bring up how flimsily he went down as well as the thought that were he truly powerful, then he wouldn't need the Sheriff.
So my question is, who is the vampire that Alastair Grout referring to? | |

| Whoever used Sebastian as a pawn and was too smart to show a face to neonate? *looks over shoulder* Or was it Max? The iron crown on his forehead and Jester dances before him, no? | |

| And there's the "blackest crimes both past and future" part. And I don't think we need to explain the crime part, due to his clan and that he has a gargoyle D: | |

| Has to be male
Has to be in Elysium sessions
Has to be old enough
---> Strauss
(I'd vote Jack but he's not primogen...) | |

| I still think it's LaCroix. We don't know the exact time, but the recording was made some time ago. Before LaCroix planned to have a primogen murdered and frame it on an Anarch leader, maybe even before he even made his alliance with the Kue-Jin. And before he tried to have two kindred killed by werewolves. | |

That is a good point. The crimes could have been in the future at the moment of the making of the record, but not when the character listened to it. | |

| I'm more inclined towards Strauss than LaCroix, he's making power plays left right and centre to get on top. LaCroix is too easy to pin it on and smells of scapegoat. Killing a Primogen and getting away with it isn't that easy even if they are Malkavian. | |

| Hm, my first thought was of course LaCroix. But this is too obvious. The more I think of it, the more comvinced I am, that Grout refers to Strauss. Must be the prince or one of the primogen. -LaCroix: old enough (at least in America), but not all that powerfull. And too openly ambitious to survive the jihad without subtle help. Plus the only crime of his that goes beyond standard jihad maneuvers is the treason of making a pact with Ming. And even this idea could have been planted in his brain, so there is a lever to call an Archon or Justicar on him if he becomes inconvenient. -Gary: too young, and while he is a spy and rumor trader, I doubt his "crimes" go beyond jests like siring Imalia. -Grout: presumed dead... -the other primogen aren't even mentioned by name or clan. But I doubt htere is a powerfull Brujah, Gangrel, or Toreador in the LA Cam. And if there is a Ventrue Primogen, (s)he's a puppet of LaCroix. This leave Max: old enough. Must be subtle and powerfull to survive decades of no Camarilla in LA. Plays the role of "understanding grandfather" too well to be believed. Certainly can influence the prince one way or another... - | |

| In conclusion, never trust the Tremere. Especially when they appear to be nice...
To think that I thought the guy trustworthy and nice on few early playthrougs... I knew nothing of PnP and WoD then, I may say to my defence...
Truth be told I wouldn't play the game or even be here if not for a walkthrough I accidentally stumbled upon on You Tube... | |

. I think that can apply to all Kindred xD And mortals too... Sadly. Where is honesty, moderation and honour nowadays? Sometimes reading on Paths of Enlightenment makes me wonder if what we practice as Humanity isn't overrated. Or are we that shitty at it, as human race? | |

| So it's a possibility never to be proven that Strauss is the evil motherfucker all along, pulling Lacroix strings without Lacroix even knowing about it? Awww shit nigga. | |

| I don't know, the "formless menace" (I don't remember precisely Grot's recordings) really sounds like Ming Xiao, so I guess Grout's accusing LaCroix. Although I always suspected Grout to be Caine (the taxi driver) and the sender of the mail | |

. I think that can apply to all Kindred xD Yup. Just as Claudia stated: Jack would fit the bill as well, except he isn't a primogen. And for how I ended up here: I knew of WoD from two p&p groups that both never went beyond the first meeting (siring and the very first steps in unlife). And when I got stuck with bloodlines at the pump in the warens, I found a walkthrough on banshee... ...and Zer0's description for CE 1.0. The idea of the bloodtimer got me, and I was caught. - | |
