Yes, someone could pick the lock, although Claudia pretty much stated that anyone taking that long at the Security door would draw attention.  But even if this is a metal fire door, Duncan should be pumped up enough to open it.  Plus we're running out of time.  Once we get word that Lambert has left El Bodegon, Duncan wants to be headed out the door.  Like William, he thinks the Sheriff can get home quickly.

But what it really boils down to is that Duncan finally gets to use physical force in a manner that moves us towards our goals.  The past few nights have been extremely frustrating, between being stopped by the Nossies before we could explore the cellars, and having to cut a deal to look for Momo before they'll escort us, and finding that the Sheriff might have been involved in Momo's disappearance... all of these delays are adding up.  One friggin' door isn't going to stand in our way.

About the door, picking it without the proper electrical tool (to test all combinations) would take long enough that someone would come up or down in the mean time (at least statistically !).

I know right, I was even going to jokingly call Duncan blue (B from brujah), Nyx noir and Fred mahony XD

But security tapes are still pretty used, the special ones made for long time recording are still used in modern systems since they are cheaper in some instances and you always have those older people (who obviously aren't Duncan XD) whom are more comfortable with tapes, so companies still cater to them.

For all we know it could be Sony Betamax (old competition to VHS; also used by news agencies for years).

We can double-check that the video feed doesn't go anywhere else; but with this setup probably not.

Oh yeah I find it hilarious but yeah VHS tapes are still used in some securities. Lambert probably ain't the most computer aware guy ever, that or he doesn't control the security system of the place where he brings in his ladies ? :p

With wounds like that, the only thing that could possibly save him would be to make him a ghoul or find a salubri. William has to make priorities, get the job done or comfort the mortal as he dies, he isn't so good with the second one since he isn't exactly an empathic person.
