I think I mailed you the files for as far as I got a while back, and it sounded like you saw a way to make it happen.
Yes, the Sabbat are going to capture Heather. Yes, they are going to smack her around. But then you should have a chance (being the gun-slinging sword-waving badass that you are) to actually save her before she gets killed.
From my playthroughs testing it - this was the hardest battle in the game BY FAR: Harder than Ming, much harder than the Sheriff. There's no friendly fire restriction as far as I can tell (and there shouldn't be for this IMHO) so you have to worry about shooting her yourself, and if you keep her health low enough - you have to raise it enough so she survives the first 'smack', you have to get over there pretty fast if you want to use a sword.
