Naturalist - In life you tended to spend your time out of door closer to nature and ignore the modernization of life around you. Maybe that's why your sire chose you, not that they could tell you. in death you find the disciplines of Animalism and Protean easier to learn, but you just aren't any good with the urban skills of undeath.
Protean/Animalism take less experience to learn, but Lockpicking and Hacking can never rise above 5.

Hunter - Many Gangrel view themselves are something of warriors and that's fine for them, but not for you. A standup fight has never exactly been you going-in plan and it shows. You replace the Fortitude discpline with Obfuscate.

Feral Sorceror- You were the geek in school, you know the kid that played D&D, really seriously played D&D. Not just a few times with your cousins. You always played wizards too, you just liked being the smart one casting from the background. You almost suspect the Gangrel Embraced you just to annoy the Tremere. At least there is always Animalism. Animalism disciplines cost one less blood point to use, but Protean last half as long.

Varsity Star - Sports were big in your life. The rush of competition was nothing compared to the thrill of bettering yourself though and you were always determined to be the best at your goal even if it meant taking ballet to learn flexibility or track to learn to run better. All for the sake of the team in the end, right? You replace the Animalism Discpline with Celerity.

Known Criminal- ANd here you thought that having a hdeout in the boonies would be a smart idea, turns out it wansn't cops you should have been worried about. At least your skills are useful, shame that your on the FBIs most wanted. Receive an Extra dot in Security, Computers, and Stealth. All cops attack you on sight. (well maybe security from the Stationarium will cut you a break.)

Bully - You never were one for social graces, but you sure as hell always got what you wanted even if you had to punch the guy at 7-11 for not giving you your damned coke for free. Persuasion and Seduction cost more experience to raise, but you get to apply your intimidate to haggle checks. (not really sure how feasible this part would be to program)

that's all i can think of for now, ill check back in with more if i can.

My comments:
Naturalism seems to give too much and take too little. Hacking and lockpicking have nowhere near as much usefulness towards endgame as the extra points of xp and quicker mastery of disciplines.

Hunter and Varsity Star - Could be feasible and add more possibilities to character creation and gameplay. Could also be useless and/or gamebreaking.

Feral Sorceror - Maybe it would be better if the history is named "Druid" or "Native Shaman", the description removes anything about D&D, and one is granted bonus in Animalism at the expense of Fortitude.

Criminal - There are actually few cops that hang around peacefully in the hubs, atleast to be much of a hassle for the bonus this one gives. But the idea behind the history seems pretty good.

Bully - Bonus for intimidation instead of adding intimidation into haggle is also a viable alternative.

Naturalism should also severely hinder the social skills.

Hunter and Varsity star both are one half of City Gangrel. Since I intend to include this bloodline, there is no need for either of the two.

I can't imagine why either of the clans, Tremere or Gangrel, might be interested in a D&D geek.

Lol that was just a touch of silly. The main premise is that they are natural spellcaster, unusual among the gangrel, but still possible. They type of person the Tremere would embrace typically. Th rpg nerd bit is just a tongue in cheek bite against..we'll most of us that'll play this game.

I dislike histories that give you a bonus to one discipline or stat and a penalty to another. They stink of the Wyrm (minmaxing). And something like "-50% Protean duration" is pretty much the same as "don't bother upgrading Protean".

What I'd do isntead is use quickstart histories for every discipline. The discipline would start with 2 dots instead of 0, but you'd get an XP penalty. The penalty would be carefully chosen so that if you rush through the game and just do the absolutely essential quests you would lose XP equal to the cost of upgrading a discipline from 1 to 3. But if you do any sidequests or bonus objectives you would end up losing more XP than you saved by starting with extra dots. That way these histories would make the early game easier, but the lategame harder.

For Gangrel they could be:
- Anda Gangrel: bonus Fortitude
- Beastmaster: bonus Animalism
- Shapeshifter: bonus Protean

Via histories, or replace Country Gangrel entirely?

No, Malkav found a way to "change disciplines through Histories", aka, the no background gangrel would be country, but half of the histories could be either city or country

Awesomesauce. This opens up the possibilities to include the most famous and infamous bloodlines of each clan in the history

Copypaste from Char Building and Exp. Thread.

So the base for this is Country Gangrel: Fortitude, Animalism, Protean

For some more bloodline replacers, it seems that Gangrel has quite a few breeds shall we say, underneath their belt. To count, City (Obfuscate & Celerity Replacing Fortitude and Animalism), Greek (which developed into City, Obfuscate instead of Fortitude), Aquarius (Gangrel with aquatic animal traits), Anda (Asian Gangrel), Noiad (Replace Fortitude with Auspex).

On another note, Malkav, do you want me to make a separate topic for Malkavian derangements?

@Saulot: if you have good ideas for derangements, and how they influence the character, please make a topic and post them.

@ThePhilosopher: don't get overexited. I haven't found a way to overcome the limited number of disciplines, and I haven't yet learned how to mod disciplines. So we are still stuck to the existing ones.
