| I have tried to free the discipline slots for bloodbuff and bloodhealing, and also make it possible to separately use the three buffs. Therefore I created items that provide the stats changes and written python scripts to give the items and remove them after a certain time. However there is one problem. The python script removes the items from the inventory, but the altered stats stay active. On the other hand, when I drop the items manually from the inventory, the stats go back to normal. Any ideas what causes this strange effect? - P.S. If I can figure this out, I'm probably able to add two new clans with their individual disciplines. | |

| I found a way. At least for the buffs. It's not the most elegant, but it will do. Activating will cause 1 point bloodloss and raise the attribute (Strength, dex, or stamina) by 3 points for 20 seconds. Then I give an item that reduces the attribute, and immediately after remove the item again. I've also included a check to prevent cummulative use of the buffs. Maybe I cann allow a longer duration if the "discipline" is activated again while still running. Activation is done by a freely definable key. For bloodheal, I'll probably have to use two items. One that gives faster healing and one that resets to the original healing rate. What do you think? Do you like the idea of individual buffs for each physical attribute? - | |

- Great idea. I wouldn't have thought of it. I don't know about separate buffs though. I grew used to having all three attributes buffed at once.. On the other paw hand I have never tried to have it otherwise, either. It may be worth trying.

| I use bloodbuff only for lockpicking anyway. So for me having separate buffs would mean less blood for improving the lockpick skill. And I can also prepare the system so that you can setup a key for each single buff, and one for the combination as it is used in bloodlines. - | |

- To think of it Bloodbuff is useful mostly for lockpicking and sometimes combat... Your idea makes sense, good Sir.

| as a pen and ink fan, I would prefer to see separate disciplines for each of the three physicals. That said, that would probably mean more code, and fewer item slots for you to play with. I know I would not complain either way. on the bloodheal concept, would it be possible to do an instant heal with a cooldown? this would more closely mimic the paper version where you healed bashing a point a turn for a single vitae. granted, you would need to find someway to slow down agg damage healing with that. ugh. okay, ignore this paragraph.
I will say, I have frequently used bloodbuff for finesse/diplo characters in order to feed on the last mob in a pack, so it does have uses outside lockpicking.

| There's beauty in simplicity.
You have enough item slots freed for this?

Assamites and/or Setites could fit in without big problems. Might be worth a shot, and would be easy to build if Zer0 allows me to use the disciplines from TFN. On the other hand I'm fascinated by Lasombra and Obtenebration. If I can pull that off... - Quote :

Too bad. Any experience with photoshop? I'd like to change some skins, but I suck at photochopping... -

| Actaully IMO bloof buff is bad for gameplay and we would be better off without it. All it really does is devalue Security. | |

It is a odd process, since the files are archived in an odd fashion. The player skin textures are scatted across the vpk files, as are many of the other files. Not sure if the program is included with the UP, but there is a program that allows one to view the files, and find out exactly where things are(including getting a look at the textures themselves), called Packfile Explorer. If it isn't included with the UP, it should be on PV. Once you know were the textures are, then it's just extracting them with the Vpk Tool(included with the UP, and with any mod that used it as a base - it's in the Extras or Tools folder), and converting them to a tga for editing. The only problem once edited, is that they must be saved as a .dds file, then converted with the Vpk Tool once again. Also, I have a few edited skins myself, which might be of interest.

| No need to worry about that. I have a copy of the game with all archives extracted on my disc for modding purposes. So if I need a skin reworked, I can easily provide the targa. For one thing, I'd like to change the appearance of the Malks. Can also be based on the model of another clan, or the armors can be used in a differing order, or only one or two of the set used. And I want some of the citizens recolored, so there are less identical twins on the streets and in the clubs. For the future, if I can add new clans, I need individual skins for them, too. - | |
